I was afraid that would be the case.
It's an amazing synth, regardless, but what a bummer.

Perhaps it's a limited response to all the bitching about 1/8" jacks that ensued when the Mini was announced. If it's limited to 1,000, then that price isn't too crazy considering how much more expensive the manufacturing would be for a run that small. You're probably right, but I still don't get t...

From the FoH description of the Sound of Shadows: The focus of the SoS was the delay while the VCA was thrown in because half of an LM13700 IC was unused, so the VCA is very basic. From the Sound of Shadows manual: This controls the VCA output level – A.K.A. 4 : the volume knob. Standard beha...

Beatmaker 2 maybe - i think you're better off buying an app that could do more than you are looking for. virtual studios like Beatmaker2, Caustic3 and the likes sometimes offer the better sampler experience than single purpose apps... Cool. Thanks for the response. I'm certainly not opposed to some...

I would suggest for a mixer that you go with the Pittsburgh mixer as it can be used as four attenuators also.
It's only $79 and you'll always have a use for it in your system.

I would get a different VCA. I'm sure you can find a dual VCA that's switchable between expo and log in B/S/T for not much more than that Doepfer.
Am I really the first person to suggest a Maths?
Yes. Get a Maths for your immediate modulation needs.

the new Akai MPX8 ( http://www.soundria.com/akai-mpx8.html ) is kinda cool, but it can accept MIDI for external triggering. super cheap. I guess you've already considered the iPad. That Akai looks cool and the price is right. I've never recorded, either, which would be required as I can't record st...

I'm pretty sure that hasn't been in production in a long time.

If you're looking for an LFO, get a Dixie. That way you have the option of another killer oscillator, as well.

You'll be fine. When I used to tour full time, I would get the best questions about my pedal board. I would just point at things and say, "That makes the guitar sound like ZZZZZZZZZZ." "That one makes it sound like it's in a canyon." I wouldn't worry about carrying 9U on, either. At least if you're ...

Live sampler

So, my band has had a noise guy for years but we kicked him out. As much as I would like to replace him, the other guys don't want to add another member. I did the noise on our new record but we need the noise live and the rest of the band has decided I should do it. So....I'm trying to find a sampl...

Also, even though it looks like a great little synth/controller, it's just (a little bit) patchable, not semi-modular . Wondering if I should get one instead of a QuNexus too, but the QuNexus gives a couple of channels of CV to MIDI too (and is a more expressive controller though apparently it has ...

A $300 semi-modular analog synthesizer with full MIDI/CV connectivity and people are still bitching about certain features missing.
Unreal.

The DIY section might be able to help.
But I would try the MFOS sub-forun at elctro-music.com. I believe there's a like to it on the MFOS home page.
And welcome.

I really like it as it is. As far as I know it would be the only 8hp 4-channel vc mixer in euroland. And with the jumper options it would be easy to diy a breakout panel with the switches you might want. But, I am biased. 8hp is what I have left in my rack... so you should probably just ignore me :...
