Re: Favourite Delay Units

Eventide Timefactor - dual delays and stereo. It sits on my aux/send of my mixer. the fact that it handles line level signals is great. I have had it so long that its really hard for other delays to unseat it. Moog MF-104z - its not as slick as some of the other versions, but it has that classic BBD...

Re: IK Multimedia UNO analog monosynth

Just picked up an UNO to use as a compact midi controller but listening to demos I think it sounds really nice especially the triangle wave and band pass filter.

Re: Zoom Livetrak L-8: Multitrack recording the silly easy way.

I just picked up an L-12 as I wanted to take a step up from the R8. Yeah, it’s an excellent way to just get to recording. Great choice!

Re: SE Boomstar

yeah, the CS80 has an extra high pass filter and resonance on the top, very cool. and definitely like having the sine wave as an option. I have been using the one Boomstar as a drone instrument cause there are so many options to mess with on the panel.

Re: SE Boomstar

Curious if anyone is still enjoying or have added any Boomstars to their collection. I love my SE80 and have picked up a 4075 because I like the SE80 so much. really powerful little boxes with a ton of knobs for the size..

Re: Put your Album Release into this Thread!

New album release . Drone/dark ambientish/spooky/etc. with a little Berlin School influence. 100% of proceeds will be divided between Reclaim the Block and Afrorack. I will match all donations from sales today, and it's #bandcampfriday so they won't be taking their usual fees. http://starthief.band...

Re: Thicket Whispers - a Ciat Lonbarde album

I actually have an R8, but the second channel developed some noise thats unbearable to me.. very sad. so was considering getting the R16, but now I see it only does 44hz, which is problematic for video stuff.. Anyways, I saw you mastered in Cubasis 2 also. Have considered using that more. Anyways, y...

Re: Put your Album Release into this Thread!

Hey all, here is a collection of sounds made on some m32s, dfam, microkorg and my small but growing modular system. This project started as a request for some soundtrack work for a video series, I am working on the next collection. Most of the stuff will be used, some of it is too busy for the proj...

Re: Grendel Drone

Well I wouldn’t sell the Lyra! I have always wanted to work with one.. the Grendel is an excellent tool to have, not perfect for all situations, but is so fun to jam with.. it’s a drone that keeps a constant pulse, which is great..

Re: Grendel Drone

Everything you hear from the start is the Grendel except the added four on the floor bass pulse (sub37) and later percussion. it’s two tracks of it with some Eventide Pitchfacter controlling the pitch and also adding delay.. so it’s mostly Grendel throughout..

Re: Grendel Drone

I didn’t even know this thing existed! You’re getting some great sounds out of it. Congratulations. Thanks! It’s a really special drone synth that is wildly expressive! Highly recommended, I guarantee there are many that agree.. it’s not a workhorse, but what it does well, there is no substitute.

I'm using my Reface DX a lot. I find it is great to layer on top of other synth sounds to add some 'sparkle'. The pads are very good too. I really like the CS, but I have place myself under 'no more synths' lockdown, until such time as I offload some that I am not using enough. I need to find someo...

My approach is boring, I actually work out the theory! :) For example, in the new large-scale piece I am finishing up, the core scale is D harmonic minor, which leads to some interesting chord progressions and harmonies using AMaj. For each section of the larger piece, I explore neighbor tones by u...
