Dmitri is a really good dude. I'm glad to see he's reopened the Church of the Serge. My advice - get DUSGs. Lots of them. You can make a DUSG do almost anything. Also - Dmitri will etch custom panels for you, so don't be afraid to ask for what you want. Gary Thanks for the input, Gary. I've been sp...

I'm about to take the plunge into this format, having recently stumbled upon this website: http://www.coa-modular.com/ I wanted to enquire about a setup for minimalism/drone. I'm just enquiring as to what modules I should duplicate, or at least begin with. These are the modules I have to choose from...

Here is a thread on VSE about Minibrute vs. MS10 for which I did some demo recording of the MS10... Maybe it's helpful. http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=69438 Really appreciate this. I've heard a lot of reports regarding the physicality of the mini; cheap keys, knobs etc... it...

MiniBrute VS. MS-20 (Mini)
Was about to invest in the MiniBrute, but i'm unsure now with the launch of the MS-20. This is going to be my first, and main monophonic synth for a period of time (starting college in September). I'm not too specific about what I am looking for; I work mainly in minimalism (drone), and wanted to ad...

Beginning Video Synthesis
I've wanted to get into this for a good while, but I'm not sure of the tools I'll need for what I want to do. I would love to invest in LZX modules, but I'm in college so funds are tight. I basically want to use touch designer to generate shapes/ geometrical patterns, then manipulate these animation...

Was about to pull the trigger on this, which will be my first monophonic synth. I recently invested in Max, and i wanted to have an analogue sound source for processing in max. The Adrian Utley demos grabbed my attention, and the capabilities and sound look fantastic, but with the arrival of the re-...

New Make Book on Analog Synthesis
I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but I'm very excited to see the release of this. I've recently started learning electronics using the Charles Platt, Forest Mims, and Nicholas Collins books, so this will be a great addition for when i'm more experienced. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2...

What I like about minimalism (I prefer the term to drone) is how sensitive the ear gets when listening; the more you listen, the more subtle changes are recognized. It takes a lot of skill to create something engaging with few tones/textures, but subtlety can be equally as captivating as a piece wit...

Video Art Resources
Just wondering what blogs/sites you like to check on a frequent basis? I'm looking to find some. Create Digital Motion, Art-Video.net, are the only ones I have at the minute. Any more would be appreciated.

Thanks for the inputs. To explain further what I meant about the question regarding cv; I wanted to find out is it possible to control a module with another module, as I couldn't find cv inputs on the Arturia Moog modules, I didn't know that the cables are simulating cv, nor that some modules have "...

Soft-Synth For Learning Modular
I'm going through the Allen Strange and Deverahi book and while i'm saving for my modular I was wondering is there any software/soft-synth I could use for learning. The Arturia Moog does not have c.v. inputs which is a shame, although i'm sure there is a reason for that.

Dummy Plug/Negative DC Voltage (Devarahi Book)
I'm reading the book to understand modular synthesis, it's been great but a few times he has mentioned these two steps in experimenting with patches. For example, for non-tracking of a vcf, you must insert a dummy plug, what is this and how is it achieved? Same for negative DC voltage, I assume they...

Maybe Chris does layover? Seriously. Send him a deposit for 6 of his cases and pay for them as soon as you can thereafter. Also: 112 MU :hail: I can only dream of that much DotCom. Luckily the Rast route is working out for me, so casing my modules isn't going to break the bank. But damn...112 MU......
