Re: DUSG Help!

Exactly as you say, swapping in a 10n cap in that position has produced a new maximum of 3.3 kHz when calibrated. I also had used 82k going to the Rise/Fall pots so having swapped those with 68k, presto, it can still go very slow. (I already had 1% 8k2s at the emitter position.) I've still got a 1n ...

Re: DUSG Help!

Just got two DTGs fully working after a few hours of troubleshooting, thanks largely to this thread! They're working and quite stable all around. That definitely seems to be the major hurdle, and I'm very happy just to get this far. However, I'm noticing that all four slopes are on the slow side--ma...

unfortunately it will not sound like the wasp that everyone grew to know by doepfer's version, the Random Source Haible one, in my opinion is an unfinished design, outputs are too quiet, resonance too gentle, with that said, I do like the results I get by using the middle output , I sort of quit th...

Is there any difference in sound between R-S smt version and through hole (with quality components)? No, it sounds exactly the same, perhaps apart from very, very subtle differences due to resistor tolerance. The difference in sound between THAT2180- and Serge Gain Cell-based VCFQs is far more pron...

Blew up about four LM13700s on the second Wasp before I thought to replace the BCM857DS, something I had incidentally done on the first while troubleshooting but hadn't thought much of at the time. I'm not sure if I initially used some other SMT transistor pair by mistake or if this was an unsuitabl...

Well I finished my build but Im having two or three issues: 1.mode and mode cv attenuator knobs don't do anything. 2.trimmers X and Y (for cv rejection) dont change anything. 3.Input from left side does not get outputted through the middle out, the right one does. After writing this I found an erro...

No huge issues with the builds or wiring though I had to spend some time tracking down funny little issues with the LFO/modulation section (cold joint hidden under s...

It’s not needed on the SY-1M. But few users (5-10) that’s maybe 0.5% of all devices got a coil problem, high frequency tones. But I can measure tomorrow the noise ratio with my FFT analyzer. I have 5 different syncussions for testing here. Would this be an issue with the 220uH inductor, or with the...

Got my hands on the 110 and 180 panel/pcb sets and didn't waste any time building them. I am impressed that they got the entire discrete circuits and all necessary hardware on one PCB each. The 110 in particular is fantastic--really nice overdriven tone. Hope there are more DIY sets at some point, t...

Correct, they are not included in the second run kit. However, I ordered the Mouser BOM back in January and it definitely included those slide pots, along with a few extraneous parts which have been eliminated in the meantime.

Who is updating the Mouser BOM these days? Ordered my stuff about a week ago and only realized the order and BOM didn't contain slide pots when I reached that part of the build today  Didn't they used to be on there?

Or, someone with the files could get a group buy together? I would be so down.

Just pulled the trigger on one of these for myself (second build in total). Fun fun fun! The latest Mouser cart uses these rotary switches ( https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/105-CK1049 ), which have an insanely huge 38mm shaft length. The datasheet for this and similar are pretty unclear, so cou...

Sounds like this might be the fix. Someone try it! I added a 2.2nF cap across RT2. The MFOS docs say 2nF, but I didn't have one. I tried a few others both larger and smaller, and didn't see anything obviously better. It definitely has an effect, but not huge. I'm not quite confident enough in my os...

R*S Haible Tau Phaser LFO rate?

Hey y'all, I've built a couple R*S Eurorack Haible Tau lately and have noticed that the LFO rate is a little faster on these than an earlier rev one I keep for personal use. Anyone know what component(s) I might change on the latest boards to reduce the LFO rate?

DVCA build problemos?

Hey all, unfortunately I've spent the better part of a day troubleshooting a DVCA to no avail. Channel 1 works fine, but Channel 2 does not pass any input or respond to knob-turning. The normalization of Channel 1 to Channel 2 is okay and the bicolor LEDs respond when Channel 1 is normalized so the ...
