Re: Tyme Sefari MK1 MK2 Kompare Video

The funny thing Robotopsy is I was always in the "less clicks" camp for many years, but last year it just "clicked" for me, I really like the character the various clicks, glitches, and low fidelity-ness can give. Still, I could see it would be nice to be able to start without all of that, and then ...

Re: Tyme Sefari MK1 MK2 Kompare Video

Thanks Robotopsy, great video. I've grown to love both my Mk I and Mk II Time Sefaris. I was curious, is the rumor now that there is going to be a Mk III Time Sefari? Scott had previously said he thought the hardware on the Mk II TS was good enough, but would revisit the software. At any rate I'd be...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Going from memory here, but it's a little more complex than that. Most gate sequencers can output a gate per step, and usually have anywhere from 8 to 64 steps available. FLUX has gate sequences of up to 64 steps (I believe), but the individual "steps" can be composed of more than one gate, up to 64...

Re: "paradigm shift" modules from your experience

The Cocoquantus is indeed a magical box in my experience. The Quantussy, the center 5 oscillator complex modulation source, is deep and musical. It should also be mentioned that the delays, while being lo-fi, sound great as well. I love to see both broken out into eurorack modules in the Mobenthey l...

Surface looks interesting. With 8 voice polyphony, is there any way to control it polyphonically, i.e. midi input or breakout additional cv gate inputs?

Re: Glitch/Splice/Granular hardware recommendation needed!

I had a LD3 and GR-1. Ended up selling both (for different reasons). Modular form, I like Clouds, in software I'm a huge fan of Spacecraft. When I had the GR-1, it didn't really have on-board storage or realtime granular processing of live inputs. To my ears, the LD3 doesn't exactly do a controllab...

Would love to get this from you if possible! Let me know!

Yes, the last update reportedly tamed some of the more unruly aspects of feedback. In many ways that would be an improvement, but the ungodly distorted howling that could arise from the previous version was actually desirable too.

I've been watching this thread for months, and have been lately enjoying my Benjolin module inter-patched with Marbles, so I pulled the plug today on a Vortex Generator and can hardly wait to loop it in with Marbles, the Benjolin, and the rest of my rack.

Not exactly a shift register, but Mutable Marbles allows variable pattern length combined with variable degrees of repetition vs mutation.

SphericalSound, two questions-

1) How does the second rungling mode differ from the first?

2) When might new built units with new code and LEDs be available?

Re: Advice for powering larger systems?

Thanks to all for your advice and help, finally got it filled re-populated and it's now powered by Trogotronic, no more problems with power. In fact, I may have enough to power the state of New Hampshire in a pinch. J.T. at Trogotronic was responsive and helpful, and did a very nice job on the insta...

Re: Advice for powering larger systems?

Well, life has changed a little since I started down this path. I guess it has for all of us. But ultimately I went with Trogotronic, sending my case to them just before we all went to ground. I'm getting two 10A 9U systems (one for each half of the case), each with 11Hp AC Inlet modules, 4 bricks m...

Re: Tyme sefari vs phonogene

Dooj88 , if you aren't into clicks, pops, etc with looping, particularly when moving loop points around, the TS series isn't for you. Although there was talk of a software update for the TS MKII, that as yet hasn't materialized. The popping and clicking used to be a problem for me, but my ears have...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I am going to remove the micro SD card and variable voltage outputs as stretch goals and confirm that they will be included for everyone; I think that they are too important. Now is the time to nail the hardware design, we can always improve the firmware over time but I want the hardware specs to b...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Did anybody figure out whether you can switch between the patterns under CV control? I appreciate that the patterns can be long, but I'm thinking about being able to change feel dynamically. Not sure on CV of patterns, but there is a plan to have CV control of start and stop point within a pattern,...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Well, we're at (around) £26,000, for both stretch goals we need to get to £35,000, a deficit of £9000. So we need about 26 more pledges at the current rate of £349 per pledge. Alternatively, if the 83 backers added around £108 each we'd be where we needed to be too, but I'm not sure that's doable. I...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I understand that, I was at the same place initially. My decision changed as I delved a little deeper into the specs and realized that none of my sequencing modules could do the things the Flux does. I think if your rhythmic needs are basic 4 on floor, bass drum hi-hat tick sort of thing, it's proba...

Re: Advice for powering larger systems?

Thanks, yes, I consider myself fortunate to have this case. I've been looking at a Intellijel TPS 80w for each half. It's tantalizing because it's right at the level of "I can do this myself relatively easily". Since each half draws between 3,500 mA to 4,000 mA, I'd need two boards per half, as I ex...

I wanted ask for some Wiggler advice on upgrading the power system for a large case I have. The case is a huge Halliburton suitcase, which someone custom made years ago. Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Phase shifting TMC's already in? Wow, now that is a responsive developer! I really like the option to have the phases optionally be snapped to rhythmic divisions, I suspect that'll be very useful. Also really impressed with the drone tones, much richer and deeper than I would've imagined. Somewhere ...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I appreciate the bravery of any manufacturer who solicits feature requests on Muff Wiggler! :) With that in mind, I had a suggestion regarding Temporal Mod Curves. Right now we can "bend" them with curvature values. Would it be possible to also- 1) Multiply them, i.e. repeat the curve a specified nu...
