Re: Vortex Generator a Maths/Benjolin Fusion 10HP

I've been watching this thread for months, and have been lately enjoying my Benjolin module inter-patched with Marbles, so I pulled the plug today on a Vortex Generator and can hardly wait to loop it in with Marbles, the Benjolin, and the rest of my rack.

Re: Shift Register / Controlled Random Sequencer module with Reset input?

Not exactly a shift register, but Mutable Marbles allows variable pattern length combined with variable degrees of repetition vs mutation.

Re: Vortex Generator a Maths/Benjolin Fusion 10HP

SphericalSound, two questions-

1) How does the second rungling mode differ from the first?

2) When might new built units with new code and LEDs be available?

Re: Advice for powering larger systems?

Thanks to all for your advice and help, finally got it filled re-populated and it's now powered by Trogotronic, no more problems with power. In fact, I may have enough to power the state of New Hampshire in a pinch. J.T. at Trogotronic was responsive and helpful, and did a very nice job on the insta...

Re: Advice for powering larger systems?

Well, life has changed a little since I started down this path. I guess it has for all of us. But ultimately I went with Trogotronic, sending my case to them just before we all went to ground. I'm getting two 10A 9U systems (one for each half of the case), each with 11Hp AC Inlet modules, 4 bricks m...

Re: Tyme sefari vs phonogene

Dooj88 , if you aren't into clicks, pops, etc with looping, particularly when moving loop points around, the TS series isn't for you. Although there was talk of a software update for the TS MKII, that as yet hasn't materialized. The popping and clicking used to be a problem for me, but my ears have...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I am going to remove the micro SD card and variable voltage outputs as stretch goals and confirm that they will be included for everyone; I think that they are too important. Now is the time to nail the hardware design, we can always improve the firmware over time but I want the hardware specs to b...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Did anybody figure out whether you can switch between the patterns under CV control? I appreciate that the patterns can be long, but I'm thinking about being able to change feel dynamically. Not sure on CV of patterns, but there is a plan to have CV control of start and stop point within a pattern,...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Well, we're at (around) £26,000, for both stretch goals we need to get to £35,000, a deficit of £9000. So we need about 26 more pledges at the current rate of £349 per pledge. Alternatively, if the 83 backers added around £108 each we'd be where we needed to be too, but I'm not sure that's doable. I...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I understand that, I was at the same place initially. My decision changed as I delved a little deeper into the specs and realized that none of my sequencing modules could do the things the Flux does. I think if your rhythmic needs are basic 4 on floor, bass drum hi-hat tick sort of thing, it's proba...

Re: Advice for powering larger systems?

Thanks, yes, I consider myself fortunate to have this case. I've been looking at a Intellijel TPS 80w for each half. It's tantalizing because it's right at the level of "I can do this myself relatively easily". Since each half draws between 3,500 mA to 4,000 mA, I'd need two boards per half, as I ex...

Advice for powering larger systems?

I wanted ask for some Wiggler advice on upgrading the power system for a large case I have. The case is a huge Halliburton suitcase, which someone custom made years ago. It’s 3 rows (18U) in the top and another 3 rows in the bottom, at 128 HP wide. It’s powered by a first generation Tiptop powered b...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Phase shifting TMC's already in? Wow, now that is a responsive developer! I really like the option to have the phases optionally be snapped to rhythmic divisions, I suspect that'll be very useful. Also really impressed with the drone tones, much richer and deeper than I would've imagined. Somewhere ...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I appreciate the bravery of any manufacturer who solicits feature requests on Muff Wiggler! :) With that in mind, I had a suggestion regarding Temporal Mod Curves. Right now we can "bend" them with curvature values. Would it be possible to also- 1) Multiply them, i.e. repeat the curve a specified nu...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Thanks mdoudoroff, missed the curve information on the Kickstarter- that part sounds good!

I'd agree with the concerns about 3 CV inputs, if any of them have to be used reseting to external clock. On the other hand, the mod matrix and 4 macro pots alleviate that to some degree.

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Does look very interesting, a really different approach. I'm curious about a couple of things- Can curves can be edited, or new ones loaded beyond the initial set of complex curves provided? Presets- 12 seems limited for this unless they are they easy to quick reshape in practice. You've mentioned t...

Yes, thanks, that is a great resource, I regularly check Pugix for new posts. But needing at minimum 2-3 modules for each quantussy cell, multiply that by 5... it gets a little kludgey and cumbersome. Having one large module designed specifically to provide the multiple modulation sources the Quantu...

Re: Frequency Shifters and Pitch Shifters

I can use my regular old echophon for pitch shifting, but I’ve never been able to wrap my head around what frequency shifting is. I’m dumb, help Adaris supplied a great technical description, from a more simple perspective the result of frequency shifting is it moves the perceived "pitch" somewhat ...

Two questions: 1. When using hold, the audio buffer ignores the live signal and records only from the repeats feed of the live/repeats mix. Is there a way to get a dry (live) recording into the buffer with zones on a low setting? 2. What exactly does the flashing LED by the rate knob represent? I k...

Re: New MakeNoise module: Mimeophon

No fault with your Mimeophon, it's designed to allow those wonderful freakouts by letting maximal feedback drive the unit into oscillation thru the color setting. The variations of color setting from about 2:00 to full 5:00 all give slightly different varieties of feedback timbre and slightly differ...
