Re: Macro Oscillator in 5U (THT based on "Plaits")

Ordered all the parts for this, looking forward to doing this next weekend. Will obviously have messed up somewhere and will have to emergency order from somewhere, but the clear BOM and build guide makes me fairly hopeful. seems I had all the parts ( except for standoffs ( called hex nuts in BOM) ...

Re: 5u - the next trend?

A rising tide raises all boats, thankfully the economics of 5U mean it might remain feasible following a drop in interest for Modular Synths / Synths in general. The number of manufacturers of Eurorack gear coupled by the aggressive pricing of larger companies mean I worry about the sustainability o...

Re: Patch cables. To DIY or just buy?

Can anybody recommend what jack plugs and "wonderfully rubbery cable" to use. After a lot of looking for ready made patch cables I think the best way is to build myself I use Switchcraft 280 jacks, and gotham GAC-1 cabling... makes great cables and I use heat shrink to mark out the different length...

Does anyone have experience with how the cv assignments work on the MPC software? Is each channel locked to gate/pitch?
This will be key for me, Is it 8xCV or 4xGate/Pitch?

Re: What (non-standard) features would you like in a Buffered Multiple?

I use the Club of the Knobs buffered multiple that also has 2x Attenuators (VCAs) COTK C995CV So I can mult pitch CV and have either 2x attenuators, or 2x VCAs for other fun stuff. its a nice module when I wouldnt really want a single panel just for buffered mults, but think that 2x buffered mults i...

I am overseen by V.I.N.C.E.N.T. and Maximillion. 1-vincent.jpg 1-Maximillion.jpg There is also small origami bird (pictured), a woollen Celtic cross and soon, two batman legos... Sadly the cat feels no inclination to perch on top of my Modular, but the coldness of the room is probably to blame.

I think it’s naive to think any piece of software will still work X years from now.

Despite their boutique line, Roland are far from being boutique, they should fix this. You can still buy these modules new FFS :despair:
They were discontinued 3 years ago....

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4

Not been following Disting since I got a Mk1, ( or earlier when OS previewed it at a synth meet for me). but no Eurojacks please, not useful and possibly an eyesore. flashing 1/4 jacks if such a thing exists, as you need it to gauge LFO rate etc. also if there are behind panel things such as MIDI/SD...

Re: Behringer 2600

No, it's not 3340 based. Rob makes that clear in the Part 2 video. But a few other things he says *do* fit into why you're asking. And why you mention the 101. I have been trying for years now to get it understood that small things matter. Of course everybody knows that, but it seems that the synth...

Re: Behringer 2600

No problems with the sound, although whether it sounds good, or like a 2600 will be forever debated... wondering why they dont put all waveforms on all 3 oscs, rather than beef up OSC3 but not 1? No analogue reverb is part of the sound though, and that's where I think it fails a bit in copying the o...

The CV implementation of this is key and we have yet to get any details.. Is it 4xcv & 4xgate or 8xassignable? Can you assign note, gate and 2x mod cvs to one track? Do that twice? Can it do CC to continuous voltage? Options for polyphony? Can you address CV busses from desktop via USB? Can they all ...

Re: mmmmmultiples

Just in case there is any confusion I merely propose to sell the panels only. I could manufacture them if there was enough interest but at this stage it is unlikely. Regarding the switch/mute multiples a panel would be easy enough but again manufacturing a module is not my expertise. I think I comp...

Both 1 and 2 are very nice! How about a Multiple like the Doepfer A-182? That should exist! I had a A-182, great module, I would love one of those in MU, Used it all the time to route triggers ( where I use most of my multiples) and also as mute switches. Shouldn't be too hard to DIY, especially if...

If you played it and fell in love, then I dont think anything else would do. if you played it liked it and need to justify the purchase, thats another story.. the whole synth market might burst and all prices on everything will drop. but if you buy an instrument that you love, you will always have d...

If you have a blank panel you can give it to the chippie to get their head around the whole has to be exactly this wide thing. my worry was that synth cases would be so abstract that they just wouldnt get the whole idea.... I also made a document with loads of examples ( taken from this board) to gi...
