Re: 5U anxiety
Regarding resale value, don't even think about that. Modules, and modulars, just don't have great resale value. So buy what you want to keep. great advice from Dave Peck but I'd disagree with the above, try and sell any other bit of music technology from 5 yeas ago and see what your devaluation is ...

Re: 5U anxiety
A very small system of 5U would quickly show you if it was up your street. as its all about the sound/ergonomics... if those dont click, its not for you... you already have a Eurorack compatible synths so can see if you prefer the larger jacks/panel size. if you buy something worrying about the resa...

Re: FSFX Topographic Drum Sequencer
For me the whole point was to take advantage of letting go of the wheel a bit to allow for happy accident looping. Same reason I bought the AC implementation of turing machine when I started in 5U. I watched a video where Woody (piano Shack) went through the Reason beatmap sequencer, its a great im...

VC330 clone? or original.
whether it actually sounds like a choir is debatable but its a recognizable sound and can be improved with post processing.

Re: Dove Audio MuSeq
I thought this was a worthwhile discussion and one that I have definitely got a few robust thoughts, but this isn't the thread for it, so I started this discussion. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts - Digital Modules in 5U want to sound off on digital modules or champion the good ones? Have at...

Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts - Digital Modules in 5U
Do you like digital modules in your 5U? What makes a good digital module and is there a balance of features/interface? Digital module makers, Have you ever reduced the functionality to keep it simple? despite having the RAM/CPU available? Is a wall full of tiny computers an affront to the Moog days ...

Re: New Sonic Territories BBC Radio 3
Its an odd fact that I am listening to more Radio 3 than other music stations these days... part of passing my 40th and the lack of any dancefloor culture this past year., there is a lot off really nice electronic music played on there that is ambient/modern classical. would also recommend the night...

Re: 5U module that sends out just a consistent "on" 5v signal
You could even do this with a Q123 Standards module, set to Octave=5, Semitone=0. I was sure I tried this once as I had the same requirement and it didnt work, then after seeing this, I tried again and it worked! Yeah, the top & bottom sections are completely independent. And yup, the bottom sectio...

Re: 5U and the soldering iron thing
just bought my first PCBs from Tony at Oakley.
looking forward to building the ASDR/VCA and the MIDI-DAC.
nice documentation and recommended part numbers which is a bonus.
I have previously built a few 5U things, but if this goes welll, I see more Oakley modules in my future....

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
I once followed an online tip and phoned a courier (DHL) to state I was not paying their handling charge as it hadn't been agreed in advance but I was happy to pay the statutory charges, I got away with it, and only paid the customs. I am actually sanguine about paying customs charges as I think its...

From memory here but LFO Sine into Adder and then take positive into one VCA and negative into t'other. both to separate outs. pan one hard left and one hard right and you get lfo panning with the adder gain controlling how wide they pan, and the LFO speed being the pan speed. A great tip for all mo...

Re: Spare modules laying around
I like to put the modules that there's no room for in the main case into a small side case or skiff. But it leads to this problem: - "It would be cool to have a small side case so I can use these more "out-there" modules that can't justify their space in the main case. " - "Since I have a...

Re: Spare modules laying around
I got Ross Lamond to make me a lovely second case whilst he was still in the case business, but space issues ( and turning the music room into an office for WFH) have prevented me from installing power and its currently packed up in the eaves. This means I have a few modules that are sitting around ...

hi Steffen, would love to hear any audio examples of this 'screaming'
I have a plain FFB from COTK and feel I am underusing it, so always on the lookout for examples of what you can get out of it.
I'd have to use an external VCA/mixer but no issue...

Re: Kilpatrick Carbon
I emailed Andrew Kilpatrick a question about the Carbon recently, I wanted to know if it would work as a MIDI DIN > CV converter in interface mode... sadly not, but certainly possible, if you know your coding... Andrew said he was busy but I haven't seen anything from him since the video synth.. Som...

Re: COTK - Dotcom Power wiring
I forgot to ask about dotcom connectors for a recent order... response was a simple connector swap out for the gate sequencer and a transistor addition and connector swap out for the FFB. so there is no single answer and a quick email to kazike would be your best bet... For visibility's sake, ...

Re: PSA: Junkie XL massive 5U sale
Generally charities prefer a sold out and empty stockroom than loads of overpriced stuff sitting there in wherever Reverb have hired to store all this stuff.
Prices will drop once they realise much of the stock isnt moving, but by then the press and PR will have moved on.

Re: Help? Korg SQ-1 dual midi to CV?
Nothing in the manual about USB being a MIDI-in connection, so I guess you need to plug in and see if this works. However this is from the SQ1 website. ・MIDI channel: 1 (channel B MIDI channel is 2) if you couldn't do 2x outputs simultaneously, I dont see why you would have more than one MIDI channe...

Re: help a guy out - arturia brutes aplenty
you are fine with 2x brutes, they are playable and you can get a varied sound from them. I would get a nice delay pedal, reverb and some way to mix the two brutes. maybe some rhythm backing, like a good deal on a simple drum machine.... you would spend 1000+ on Eurorack to get anything as flexible a...

Make no mistake, this is all Reverb managing the stock, the comms, the sale and the shipping.
There may be bargains once the remaining stock starts to hang around, as Reverb will not want to store anything in perpetuity, so we will see stuff priced to sell.
eventually.
