Re: Ladik love

Website says the shop is closed for a few days and is in test mode. Just to add some info; it has been like that for months now. (or I may have missed a short period it was open, I haven't checked for a couple of weeks but checked it almost every day for weeks and weeks). I've dropped him a mail as...

Re: The Definitive Sequential Prophet VS resource thread

Does someone know how to obtain the latest OS from ASL? I found only one way to contact them (via Reverb) but didn't get an answer from them (yet).

Re: The Definitive Sequential Prophet VS resource thread

Yeah, I just got a mail back from Stereoping and their latest firmware for the controller has a setting where you can choose wether you want it to work with normal or "swapped" NRPN values. Very cool.

Re: The Definitive Sequential Prophet VS resource thread

Thanks for this!

I've also looked in on the different OS's lately. Isn't there an extra option for extended range of tuning in the Austin Synth Labs OS? And are you sure Stereoping offers upgraded firmware? I could always ask them myself of coarse...

Yes, it could be done better but thanks for making these jschussler. There's enough info to get at least some idea of the modules.

Re: Best Euro Distortion modules 2020

Distortion is all about input level. If your input level is below the saturation threshold, no distortion (I know, it's simplified but basically, that's how it works). That's why you may need to crank the level way up... You're right and I understand the theory. Maybe there's some module that level...

Re: Best Euro Distortion modules 2020

I'm looking for a good distortion module and just bought the Ledrover. Overall I like the sound but some things are not as I would hope they would be. For instance, I have to crank the input and distortion level way up high to get a good fat distortion. I don't mind it not being overly heavy. Once I...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

I just wrote them an email asking for a new cable and looked up the 10 to 16pin cable in the store for a replacement and that cable is out of stock. Maybe they just included whatever cable they could find. The review on the site seems to imply I'm not the only one who got a non-standard cable.

Sorry for not being able to embed pics but just imagine a cable with the 10pins connector like this cable has on both sides.

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Okay. thanks for the feedback folks. Just to reiterate, It still seems wrong and possibly dangerous to provide this cable because n00bs (even more n00by than me) will just stick this cable into their 16pin powerstrip the only way it fits (which is the wrong way).

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Thanks Naenyn. It seems they provide different cables in different stores which suggests the cable is not from VoiCas themselves. I'll contact the store again.

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Every cable I've seen till now mating a 10pin with the 16pin connector has the 10 pins to 1 side of the 16 pin connector so the 10 pins will slot into 1 end of the socket on the powerstrip and not in the middle. Are you saying this module is differently wired from all other modules I've encountered ...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

There’s nothing to go wrong if you pay attention to what you’re doing. Never assume the red stripe means anything beyond a pretty color on an otherwise grey strip. Doing the barest amount of research will save you a lot of future grief. I really don't understand this comment. Is it safe to put this...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Ah, okay, a 10pin standard busboard exists? I've never heard of it. Thanks for letting me know. Still, in modern times it seems stupid to give people 10pin powercables. I've bought a ton of modules and never got a cable like this for this purpose (only for interconnecting modules). I bought it here ...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Well, you can see I'm not that tech minded, I can't even properly embed a pic here.

Anyway, the cable has the same connectors on both sides. 10pin to 10pin, meant to go in a 10pin socket. When you stick it in a 16pin socket it will leave pins on BOTH sides free.

VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

I just bought a Ledrover distortion module and the included powercable is 10pin to 10pin. Looks like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/Lo46uPDgstZuoPog7 Am I crazy or is this dangerous as fuck? The only way you can get it to fit is right in the middle of the powerstrip. I obviously haven't tried that ...

A slow and dubby album from me. Some nice new gear used on this one, especially Pulsar23 and Zen Delay. Also some Impulse Command, lots of DRMIII among other stuff.

Thank you for the compliment dogoftears. Very nice to hear!

And gosh, that's indeed an example where it's harder to tell it's the Pulsar. Still, the bass gives it away for me. :-)

Yeah, I was thinking of saying which tracks used the Pulsar but it's so easy to hear it's totally unnecessary. :hihi:

I really don't mind that by the way. I love instruments with a very specific sound. Especially if the sound is as good as this.

Re: Pulsar-23 by Soma

Just released my new album on Bandcamp. On about half of the tracks the Pulsar is used. I've only used it in a quite basic way but it's just so awesome even using it with not too much modulation. edit: okay, I've got no clue how to link stuff here. Sorry about that. Thisd is the link to the Bandcamp...

Same here Angroc. For me there's still so much to discover in V1, it seems I'm using like 10% of what it's capable of and I'm still superhappy with it. I won't be upgrading in the near future.
