Re: Furman power conditioner
follow up... if it's ground loops from other connected equipment on your power strip, the isobar6 should do the trick, but it does not isolate from the wall socket. If you electrical is noisy and you need to remove common node noise, the LC1800 has an isolation transformer between the socket AC and ...

Re: Furman power conditioner
You know, I am not positive the LC1800 has transformer isolated power outlets (I recall it does, but looking at the spec sheet I don't see it now)... However it was the first tripp lite I used before upgrading to the ISO1000 and the LC1800 did vastly improve my S/N (old NYC apartment building electr...

Re: Furman power conditioner
If you have ground loop issues that you can't fix with proper wiring, you need something with isolated power outlets. The furman you linked to does not have that. I can't comment on the entire furman product line, but most of them are glorified power strips (useful, but won't really ameliorate a bad...

Re: What do I need to use a Vermona Perfourmer?
The moog matriarch wouldn't be a bad alternative to the performer and it has the built in sequencer. You could add a perfourmer later as an "expander" that'd be pretty sweet.

Re: How can i copyright?
you cannot copyright eurorack brands or modules. You can apply for a trademark for your business. Drawn schematics are already copyrighted the moment you create them. You can patent designs if they are novel. Software in digital parts of the module are copyright the moment they are created. All of t...

Re: Simple recording solution?
It depends on how much you like your mixer. I always recommend the soundcraft ui24r. I've demoted my analog mixers to sidecar / specialized duties and have everything setup with 2 of these. Each has 24 inputs. 24 track multracking. stereomix down. you can record multi and mixdown simultaneously. It ...

for the data slider. check traces and reseat connectors.
as for the floppy emulators -- sounds like issues with HxC settings. Are you used a flashed Gotek or a lotherek hxc or ???

Re: Which Mixer to get?
The best mixer I have for realtime live mixing and playing like an instrument is far from the best in sound quality. It's the 6 input mixer on an old Tascam Porta Two Ministudio. It's the compact layout with big, around 1", round rubber caps on the pots and the finger indentations on the sliders an...

Re: Gear you own multiples of.
Lot of great responses here, curious if those who have multiple 303 style boxes actually use them simultaneously. Seems like a narrow range of sounds and it could be difficult to get them sitting in the mix together. Do you do a polyphonic thing or is this about the workflow? Perhaps separate effec...

Re: Vermona DRM-1 MKIII in the year 2020
IMO maintaining gates as just gates is the sensible choice. It's how most other gear works. I'd rather see an additional CV input for velocity instead of having a variable gate. Single level triggers maybe be how modular typically works, but it's not how drum brains have typically worked, at least ...

Re: Gear you own multiples of.
I've managed to cull nearly all my multiples. Only strict double is 2 x akai s612.
I also have both a grendel ra-9 and ra-99 but they are actually very different synths, theymake more of a set.

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite
I've always curious about the dynamic that led to both the Commodores and the Ataris being more widespread in Europe than the States, where IBM clones and Apple machines reigned. This is totally tangential, but I find it pretty interesting that that Atari and Commodore essentially swapped design te...

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite
Still got a mirage, eps classic, TS-10 and and MR-rack. In the past I've had several esp16+, ASR10s, and an SQ-R. I like sampling into the eps and editing patches in the TS-10, it has my favorite effects setup of the various generations of ensoniq. MRs need to be programmed from a computer, but it i...

Re: Behringer VCS3
My take is that Behringer has done a really good job so far with all of their remakes -- Model D, odyssey, pro-1, wasp deluxe, cat. I don't expect the build to feel as lux as an original, but I do expect it to be reliable and sound very close. That's how all their remakes have been so far. but pleas...

Re: Modern Cassette Recorders
I grew up with tapes, and I ran a tape label for few years... 2009-2012ish. The thing about cassettes is that they seem to bring out the curmudgeon in some people of a certain age, who experienced some kind of cassette trauma in their past. Lossy sound, warps, wow&flutter, tape nests, broken tapes e...

Re: Do high end mixers matter?
For your purpose (assuming you are recording into a computer or some kind of digital device where you can mix) you would be better investing not in a mixer, but a few high end preamps. Sytek mpx-4a used to be my go to suggestion, but they don't sell that model anymore and used prices are like 2-3x w...

that Elka Synthex though Yeah, I may not have 12k for a synth today, but I was not offended by that synthex. Really the prices aren't that crazy for a lot of it. It's mostly all low production primo vintage. With the global hidden inflation rate for real assets being something like 30% a year and m...

Re: which Headphones for Bass-fun / Bass-enhancement ?
For bass the V-Moda M100 Crossfade are great (+10 dB). Also super comfortable and really well built. They do have another hi Q boost around 11kHz which is perfect for DJing (for mixing on hi-hat transients) but I don't find it harsh. I got the V-modas to replace a pair of sony 650bt. I use them bot...
