Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

So, I picked up a 1601 clone and I have had a good time patching that into the mix. What a great sequencer.
I am thinking about packing up the Arp keyboard and putting my Sequential Pro 3 in front of the 2600. That should allow for some nice cross-patching.

It is interesting how often threads about downsizing, at least in part, tend to be about buying new stuff. ;)
Great observation, it’s so true. I also know that I have started similar threads over the years - done the same thing before

Very cool that so many people are getting to enjoy some Buchla. I remember how blown away I was with first Buchla experiences and it still happens regularly.

Re: New Random*Source Serge oscillator?

I would like the Dual PCO/PT but the only place I see it at is Patch Point. It costs 700 euros + shipping from them. That seems a bit higher than other 4x4s, does this pricing seem right?

Re: Building on a LW Sing To Me panel; wondering how to proceed?

I like Wogglebugs a lot, very musical random. I like them more than the typical Serge Random Source module but that could be me; I am sure I have a ton more to explore on my my random module (I actually have 2). I would totally take Woggle over the Random Source if I was going for small, performance...

Re: Building on a LW Sing To Me panel; wondering how to proceed?

Sounds good! What about the Active Processor for the remaining 1"? If you plan on playing shows with those two panels you could also think about the ncom (or a pulse divider). That might come in handy then. (Otherwise they are probably something for the sequencing panel.) The above is very very muc...

Re: Sequential Pro 3

I have been enjoying mine. It is my only synth with black and white keys on it - I have a decent amount of all banana modular synths and a little Buchla. Someone above said it made sense as someone's only keyboard and I agree (in my case). My intent was for something that could cover a lot of sonic ...

Re: The Tempest Is Dead, Long Live The Tempest

I have had an on again and off again relationship with the Tempest over the years. I was a fairly early adopter and did have some frustrations but could have fun using it by itself. I never have understood how the Midi implementation is so weak considering Dave's involvement in it's creation. I thin...

Re: Where should I start?

I think I would go for the 208 Command + Sensel w/Thunder overlay. A little bit more functionality that the standard 208, future expand-ability (cards/fx, etc), midi options PLUS touch control which is within the Don B paradigm.

Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE

Man, I agree the Alphabase destroys the AR in the Analog drum dept. Unfortunately, the AR wins in regards to UI/usability/sequencer and more fleshed out sampling, which unfortunately means that the AR is the better machine overall IMO. I have been wondering about using Drambo to sequence the AB. Sor...
