Re: General Info - LOGAN SOLOMAN - ENIGMA and DAVID

Yes, Logan Solomon is no more.
The options are:
Stick with Jammie, maybe a person or two are the main liaison and the project eventually gets there.
Or
Go with Jim who has brought Paul Schreiber onboard to finish the project. With Jim the project name has changed to Soltron Alpha Synth.

Re: Buchla love/hate

I can relate to so much in this thread. I have experienced much joy & played some great live shows utilizing the 200e strengths. I have learned about sounds and had many happy accidents too. I have also come up against frustrating firmware issues and bus issues which aren’t show stoppers (especially...

Re: Patchbay and Unbalanced Inserts and other Studio reorganization Qs

Interesting thought - I would say that I have been after flexibility rather than a specific workflow because honestly, I haven’t found my way of doing things yet. I believe my studio is relatively small enough that it shouldn’t be bananas to do in this manner but I can also say that 2 maybe 3 patchb...

Patchbay and Unbalanced Inserts and other Studio reorganization Qs

Hi all, TLDR: is there a nice/simple resource for setting up patch bays? When to normal, half-normal etc. How do you use unbalanced inserts from a mixer with a patchbay? Some of my rack effects have cv ins and outs - should cv all go to it’s own patchbay? I want to do the work to get the rewards of ...

Re: What's Your pick for a standalone, sub $300.00 usd, used or new, synth

I would think about giving myself permission to have a little fun and then figure out what I actually want. It’s okay to have a hobby and spend a little on yourself, just go about it responsibly.

Re: Console Routing in the modern age

This thread is timely - I have picked up a bit of outboard gear and am in the process of working out some ideas on routing, etc. I currently have a Soundcraft Signature 22 MTK that I use as a glorified audio interface. It is alright for what it is but it definitely won't support what I want to do wi...

Nice!
Mine showed up the other day and I have mostly had a Sensel Morph with a Buchla Thunder controlling it. A very fun combo indeed !

Re: Doing It - Next Level Bass Controlled Synth Rig

Update: My Iridium arrived last night! Had fun with it and my Sensel Morph. I will get the Industrial Radio hooked up to it this weekend and do some exploratory noises. I ended up getting a few friends for the Iridium that can be routed through the L6 Helix too (amongst other things): Elektron Analo...

They really botched the ins/outs on the back - this isn’t going to be the studio hub that they are advertising it as.

Re: New Random*Source Serge oscillator?

@ Dirty Bill - I felt exactly the same way. I have one of the 555 4x4s and I am mostly keeping it around for the audio mixer. The are fine oscillators but I wouldn’t mind some additional functionality in that space. I have some LW to round out the R*S so I will eventually get some additional audio m...

Re: New Random*Source Serge oscillator?

Regarding the cost of pre-built R*S - sometimes 2 4x4 is the cost of a used M-class, depending on which ones. However, compare a La Bestia W/power to an Animal w/power...~40% savings. Yes, it does look like their prices have gone up. This and the Rhythm one have definitely had some R&D costs. I will...

Re: Doing It - Next Level Bass Controlled Synth Rig

@Dilibob - those sy-1000s look great. Roland/Boss boxes are deep. A rig somewhat like you have (maybe not with a fretless though), utilizing the send/return in the back of the SY-1000 for some Strymon or Eventide love, maybe an analog filter in the signal chain - that is enough for a lifetime of exp...

Doing It - Next Level Bass Controlled Synth Rig

I have decided to stop fucking around. The quest for what I have envisioned has taken many twists and turns over the years - exploring whether Eurorack had a good pitch to midi solution is what landed me here years ago (which led to selling a lot of bass stuff for synths/modulars). Most of the solut...

If anyone expecting an Iridium wants to do a swap + $ for a Quantum, let me know. It is a waste having all the keys for a keys hack like me (although I will miss all those knobs). I will put a post in the BST soon.
