Re: RE-303 Opinions wanted (now that it has been in the "wild" for a bit.)

I just paid for an RE-303, should have it in 3-4 weeks i'm guessing. I had an original for almost 20 years. The first x0xb0x i build back in 2008 sounded so good, i stupidly sold my 303. I've had 4 or 5 more of them over the years, including the x0xio modded box. Which was a HUGE PITA to build. I ha...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

I got an additional Gotek for my Emax I keyboard, along with two 3D printed plates that screw into the top of them that hides the ugly gap above the drives. I also replaced the display in the EMAX II rack with an OLED. Looks much better.

Hang onto it; I've foolishly sold and ended up buying back my DX7 twice now. This time, it's going to the grave with me  There's just something magic about the True Original...
Totally. I also want the IID and TX802. I LOVE the DX7. I have the MODX6 and still bought the DX7 =o]

Re: Modern FM synth options?

I have the MODX6, which is about as good as it gets for modern FM synthesis, but it's a full sized keyboard. I don't think anything exists in the form you're looking for. The Model Cycles? Though it isn't a full fledged FM synth.

This is what Yamaha should have done with the XFM engine. Just threw it in a standalone keyboard minus the AWM2 engine.

I have an STfm sitting in the closet waiting for a monitor and software. Back in WI i have a Mega ST2 with a box full of SW. CZ and DX Android, a bunch of sequencers, a SMPTE program with the SMPTE box. And a ton of misc stuff i can't even remember. I wish i could get to it.

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

I've had mine for almost 2 weeks now. Sounds really good. And yes, you do need to be in Play mode to transpose a sequence, this is how the 303 works as well. Also, there IS a bug in the sequencer where any transposed notes you input while editing an already existing pattern will disappear when you s...

You're much better off buying from Thomann. Cheaper and you'll get it faster.

Yamaha MODX synths are their current version of FM synthesis. I also use Arturia's DX7v which is dead on to the DX7. Full MIDI.

I just got a bricked Microwave II working again after having it sit around for 11 years. Ordered new OS chips with OS 2.33 already flashed on them. Replaced the old ones and bam, works. So i guess i just me a Waldorf Microwave II =o]
