Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

As for creating a dominant market share in emerging markets, come on. That's what business is all about. They would be failing in their duty to their shareholders not to have that as their strategic objective if they have the capacity to achieve it. Behringer has no shareholders, it's currently 100...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

If you aren't happy with our current corporate overrun world then sending your hard earned money to a company like Moog instead of Behringer is worth the difference. We're in a consumerist trap where many people will buy a cheaply constructed rip off synthesizer from a company with questionable eth...

Re: I think the Behringer 130 VCA is DC-coupled

Stick a DC voltage into an signal input, turn up the initial gain, if you've got something other than 0v coming out it's DC coupled. Seems to be a whole bunch of posts all of a sudden re whether VCAs are DC coupled. VCAs are DC coupled unless otherwise stated. I'm sure Behringer expect you to be usi...

Re: VCAs with 2 (or more) CV inputs - discussion

My problem with the idea of a multi-CV VCA is that it's unclear whether the CV inputs are summed or applied one after another. (Then again, I'm way too young to care about the classics and secretly think that the A in VCA stands for "attenuator". Also, the Behringer 902's panel design is completely...

Re: Intellijel Quad VCA or Behringer 130 Dual VCA (x2)?

I think you make a strong argument in favor of the Intellijels and there is no question of quality with that brand. Still, if saving hps aren’t a consideration (it isn’t in my case), I suppose the intellijel still wins? Not even sure what the triple-mixer gets you in the Behringers. Still new to mo...

Re: Bipolar to unipolar conversion

As Navs says, the offset depends on the pk-pk level of the incoming so you can't have a simple conversion. I suppose you could have a module with 4 x 5v offsets and that would work in most cases, thing is by the time you've designed and built something w/o controls that it's so easy to add pots to i...

Junkie XL says he's been buying this stuff since he was a teenager, and always the older 'no one's interested stuff'. Apparently it's all very well looked after. We'll see what they're up for. I barely manage to use what little I have, couldn't imagine having all that. Remember going into Schneiders...

The Hordijk Dual Phaser is indeed wonderful, too bad it's unobtainable last time I checked. I know this is "General gear" and not 5U modular (Hordijk) or Eurorack (check out AJH Next Phase) so I would like to mention a not so well known stomp box, Maxon PH350. //M Not sure if you're being sarcastic...

Re: Doepfer 106-5 or 106-6 or??

The 106-6 isn't an SEM style filter at all. The SEM is a state-variable 2 pole filter while the 106-6 is 4 pole CEM based and uses mixes of the outputs from the 4 poles to create all those different responses. If you want SEM style the 106-5 is the one to go for.

Re: Korg Opsix

Anybody know if this allows you to adjust the envelope parameters on multiple operators simultaneously? This is a crucial feature. I think the DX100 (and maybe the DX7?) allowed this, but on the Reface DX you could not -- you had to adjust each operator's envelope individually, which was a huge PIT...

Re: Dave Smith hints at Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4/Prophet 10

TBH I thought it was very subtle (though I'm old), and most likely only noticeable in direct comparison with an original. Of course this is meant to be an original, so still not great. Do think the whole thing has got exaggerated (no surprise on GS), with people going from 'OMG sounds just like my o...

Re: *** Vintage dealers taking the piss on used market ***

Quick aside: the continuing characterisation of Music Tribe/Behringer as an underdog/Robin Hood when its significantly bigger than the market value of Roland, Korg and Moog combined is bizarre but then many musicians don't seem to be financially savvy. Odd that they think that's a good thing. Yes, ...

Yes, but of course you'll need a case, PSU etc. As soon as you ask poeple will tell you to buy a bigger case and suggest every envelope/filter and oscillator under the sun irrespective of any budget you've quoted. :)

I don't think so, I'd have to try it. Mathematically it's doing In*(CV + offset).

Re: Bipolar VCAs

If the A133-2 is th same as the A133, the CV pot doesn't invert - this threw me for quite a while... I think the assumption with it is you're using a bi-polar CV already so inverting it makes less sense. So a +-5v LFO with +5v offset will give +ve amplification, a -5v offset will invert the output a...

Re: june-60 chorus pedal

Sorry, it's bad. There's no more width in stereo mode than the clean signal. Not even close to the Juno, no depth, no thickening, just sounds like a warble on top of the dry signal. I think they've screwed up the design somewhere and can't change it now w/o admitting there's a problem.

As a 'retirement present' I'd go for a Prophet5/10. You've got digital well covered. The Prophet is vintage w/o the headaches AFAICS, and I believe it will become a classic like it's forebears. The Kijimi is tempting but a rack doeesn't feel like present to me:) @Dave Peck, OP already has the SuperN...
