Re: Advice on first eurorack

Interesting it's the utility modules you think may be a waste of space... Given what you want I'd say Batumi would be a definite along with VCAs. Mixers aren't just for audio, what if you want combine 2 LFOs to create a more complex LFO? So really, the Mixer, VCAs and Kinks are your best ideas :) Do...

Re: Recording directly from mixer to phone

Just had a thought. I presume you want to record the entire mix to your phone, well if you don't need all 16 channels (I see there's 4 fx returns you can use as well...) there could be a way to do it. Create your mix using channels 3-16 + whatever else you need, make sure channnels 1 & 2 aren't cont...

Re: Recording directly from mixer to phone

Found this Sound on Sound Review , while it's not a manual, it may give you a bit more info. It seems the '15-16' button routes USB from the computer to those channels, not out to USB. Looks like it does send all 16 channels over USB or firewire though. I expect it's whatever app on your phone you'r...

Re: More CVs into DFAM

Hi Finally I got my DFAM, great stuff - but I badly miss an input on the machine. A CV input allowing me to control/modulate the "VCF EG Amount". Why, oh why, did that input not made it into the design? But.. With a soldering iron and insights I guess it's doable (maybe not so advisable). Somone ou...

I think I'd prefer if Behringer spurred innovation by using their considerable resources to...um...innovate.

Pretending like their business behavior has positive second order effects when they could just be doing that themselves is a very weird stance to take.

Re: Keyed Mosstone Lorre Mill - how do I start with it?

Welcome, You've certainly dived in at the deep end! So, what I can tell you is: When you play the Mosstone on it's own keyboard it generates CV for pitch and the gate to start and end notes. You should use CV for pitch (though it can be used possibly to control other things, depends on what the Moss...

Re: 2 to 1 mixer modules?

I agree with flashheart; a multiple might work, but it's not the right way to do it. He already said it's going to a Nord Drum and apparently the trigger velocity can add accents without a separate trigger/voltage. He needs to mix the signals. Yes, and you don't mix signals with a multiple. What Na...

Re: Minimal modules for Intellijel 4U Palette

or go for a Tiptop Mantis - it's a lot cheaper than intellijel and you can get a "backpack" to put it in - but you do loose the 1u row go slowly with modules - buy a few and then play until you think you know them inside out - then buy one or 2 more and repeat Mantis is a good shout. Also consider ...

Re: 2 to 1 mixer modules?

The idea 'using a passive mult for triggers is OK for triggers' seems to be taking hold. Certain makers (ie. Make Noise) do buffer their trigger IOs in certain ways so you can do this, doesn't mean everbody does though or that it's generally a good thing to do. It's still volts and current we're dea...

Re: Doepfer A-121-2 - Any Love?

Here! I got it to replace my uVCF because it had an additional notch out and CV over resonance (at the cost of an additional 2hp). It's deceptively characterful, or more so than the uVCF anyway. I use it a lot in the feedback path of the A199. In my current patch I'm loving its high pass into Kamie...

Re: Dedicated Inverter - useful or not?

Phase Inversion is NOT the same as voltage inversion. With voltage inversion we are changing (say) 5v into -5v, that can't be done passively. With the example you describe we're talking about having the correct phase between 2 channels. Audio fed to your speakers is AC with no GND as such and is sy...

Alpha Juno? They can still be found for reasonable prices, unless you're worried about reliability of course. Picked up a Juno1 for £260 last year. Not sure if it'd make much sense for Roland to do one, they don't have the same cachet as the 6/60/106.

You keep making up these excuses for Moog, trying to justify the ridiculous price of this product. If Moog has to charge $5,000 for this vocoder to make a reasonable profit, something is wrong. It just sounds like they are too lazy to actually redesign the circuit using SMT, and the "worker owners"...

I think what you need to do is frequency to V conversion, then slew that CV to control another clock module. Maybe the Doepfer PLL will help. A-196 manual . It has a built in slew limiter, as well as being able to insert an external slew. I don't have one, so those that do could fill you in further....

As s controller parameter locks don't mean anything as there are no 'parameters'. I see there's 4 poly sequencers, don't know how will work as CV yet, the only other parameter it it's the same as the BSP is velocity. AFAIK there's no recording of paramters from an external device (if that's what you...
