Re: 256e questions

The 256e will pass anything coming out of the blue CV out of the 281e no matter how transient, It just won’t pass (reliably) any pulses such as the red pulse output of the 281e. In a way this limitation makes sense, how could one use a transfer function on a pulse? There is a lost trick in mixing be...

Re: Speaker modules?

btw, does a buchla compatible speaker option exist? I would love to just plug in power and start jamming this easel (my easel is in a 10 space briefcase). tried buying a small jbl portable Bluetooth speaker for this purpose but it was a hassle. The cables, the speaker had to be charged up to work, e...

Re: Buchla downsizing advice (200r -> 200e)

Didn’t know the 285r v2 has an analog core - that’s nice! If you’re going mostly e, I’d go all e except for certain modules not available to the series. My system is all e except for the 297, 258v, time machine, 275r Yes, the 225e is excellent. You can use a sequencer to animate the entire synth wit...

Re: Buchla downsizing advice (200r -> 200e)

You had a voltage processor in your 200r system. You really need one (IMO) for the 200e. Any of these will give you different options: 254e (essential for me), 256e, 257e. You need a way to mix and attenuate CV and pulses. Stick a voltage processor between that 281e and 292e. There are worlds of sou...

I can't get over how ugly this synthesizer is to me. I love the sound and want to buy one but it's going to hurt looking at that color scheme. Perhaps it looks better irl.

Re: 3.5mm cable brands that work with 200e

I think the variation in 3.5mm cables is in the tip of the plug (please correct if wrong). These black market modular cables seem to work fine, but the ad infinitum cables will sometimes drop a connection. I'll take a look at modular addict cables. Planning on ordering quite a few and thought I'd as...

3.5mm cable brands that work with 200e

Did a search but couldn’t find anything reflecting the large number of cable choices today... I’m in need of some audio patch cables for the 200e. As much as I love the tini jax that came with my buchla (and the ones I got from the first run Luther (captn napalm) did with Switchcraft :hail: ), they ...

There was a render of a keyboard version somewhere recently.
I do hope it ends up more than a 3 octave toy keyboard.

Re: Question for MPC X/One owners

I picked up an MPC One, and so far am really enjoying it. However, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to save samples so that I can access them in another project. Suppose I'm in Project 1. I sample something, edit it, rename it. It's there in Project 1. Great. But I'd like to save the sample ...

No doubt SSL today is a far cry from its glorious past - a past

Re: 252e bug?

Thanks Leo, I found this when I was trying to get a bunch of rings packed with random data on red, green, and blue and then hitting the ring selection with different CV/triggers. Suddenly the tempo slowed way down and the module became unresponsive. I think it has to do with subdivisions as the modu...

Re: 252e bug?

just looked at this again. I can consistently get it to malfunction. Each cell has the option to edit red, green, or blue for pulses, CV 1-2, CV 4-6, and subdivisions. Subdivisions can exist on red, green, or blue cells even though there is only one subdivision output. If you put multiple subdivisio...

252e bug?

I need to confirm the parameters, but I may have found a bug Adding subdivisions on multiple rings freezes the module and slows down the tempo. How to test: In the display section, go to all layers visible (all LEDs on) Randomize all “red” parameters by hitting red and edit buttons. This randomizes ...

Re: KODAMO EssenceFM - 300 Voice 16 Part Multitimbral FM Rack

Just bumping this. Hoping to get some additional user experiences. Any further thoughts from those of you that have one? How is the sound? Is it glassy (like the digitone) or more gnarly like the dx7? Perhaps there’s an option to change the resolution on the output - I need to check.

Is it fun?

Synthesizers, mixers (SSL SIX), balanced/unbalanced

I recently downsized my mixer to an SSL SIX. I am experiencing some curious behavior with my modular synth and wanted some input. Sending the output of the synth through a TRS cable into one of the mono line inputs of the mixer I get lots of noise/distortion. Sending the same signal to one of the mi...

Hi multierend,

Is the jump in the touch pots very quick? As in you think maybe it was a trick of the eye?

If so, you are not imagining it! Every so often the leds jump. It’s quick enough for one to question if it really happened!

It's amazing what gigantic expenses become ordinary costs. No one on this forum has any studio more expensive than a very normal purchase common to someone most streets: A second car. That's an ordinary way to spend a bunch of socially approved money on something. A car really starts at $7,000 a ye...

Re: 251e sample and hold issue

My 251e shows the same behavior as yours. In sample and hold mode, the lowest value I can get (feeding the sample input 0v) is stage 13.

This is in a new 18 space buchla cabinet.
