If you have a "company" type email address (i.e. not hotmail, gmail etc) then you can register with microchip for FREE samples. The number of devices you can order at once depends on the type of device (the website let me order 5 off 4822's and they were delivered to the UK in about two weeks - cost...

One built last night (using P'n'P "legacy" layout) - worked first time.

As they say - "snappy".

On the "legacy" build docs - I think R7 should be 330R, not 47K (that's R7 on the FC board layout/BOM, = R23 on the Roland schematic.)

Now to assemble the three more I bought the parts for..........

Yes, a quick look at the code and I can't see any reason why it couldn't be done. It would use the original note number 0-63 (i.e. chromatic scale ) to look up a new note value in a table (or more than one table !) and use that instead. You could map to any scale, with the restriction that the outpu...

cleaned up code

Attached is a slighly cleaned up copy of the code with: 1. Sine, Sineoct, Ramp, pulse as the first four waves for both the main and sub-oscillators. 2. Sub-osc only also has Octave Brass, Clarinet, Koukop and Boulud. 3. the detune range is now set to the maximum that can be obtained without losing a...

vtl5c3 - not that I can see from the published picture of the board - - only the diff pair is used - see my question earlier to Rick (frequencycentral).

temp comp

Rick, how are you temperature compensating this ? Obviously the original circuit used the uA726, which "did it's own thing" via it's internally controlled oven ciruit. You aren't using a tempco, and as far as I can see you are only using the diff. pair in the CA3046 - i.e. no tranisistor oven. Sorry...

It wasn't specifically designed to (make it cleaner etc.) However, there is a small "bug" ("feature" if using Microsoft terminology!) of the original code that I have corrected that will affect the linearity of the CV input scaling slightly (for those that are into PICs: the original had the digital...

here are some clips - just once vcdo through a vca - no filter, no vibrato (but a lot of glide): - two sines - two "sineoctaves"'s - two sawtooths. I've turned the detune down/off in thew middle of each so you can see the difference it makes. a couple of features of the original (Electric Druid) VCD...

here you are - this should give an idea - the first four main wave tables on this are replaced by sine, sineoctave, ramp and pulse.

See next post for sound clips of this.

The default set of waveform tables only has a sine wave in the sub-osc section (though it can be "unison", +0 octaves), you can only detune it against one of the main osc waveforms. However, as there is no sine in the main set of waveform tables - The standard set of waveform tables won't allow you ...

Totally DIY ACX MIDI2CV for eurorack

Not wanting to lose Hexinverter any valuable business, but if anyone needs a "totally DIY" eurorack version of the original ACX design: http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=386836. I haven't tried this with any of the latest software versions above yet , but as none of the PIC I/O is chang...

Electric Druid VCDO / Waverider enhancements

A couple of enhancements for the electric druid VCDO: - variable linear detuning of the sub-oscillator - sync output pulse This is primarily a software upgrade, but you need to make some minor hardware mods to access the new features. The attached PDF shows how to mod the waverider (original, non-fa...

Having burned quite a few of these in the past couple of weeks (developing some mods!), the pickit3 works perfectly on the 1847. Worth getting if you can pick (no pun intented!) it up cheap - microchip would be cheapest part from their postage charge and generally slow delivery time. to support klan...

VCDO - programming PICF1847 (31/05)

klangbauer, my experience with your programming set-up is variable - some PIC16F1847 program OK - most don't . I had to set PICPGM speed setting to slowest for it to work at all. I also modified my JDM to VPP of 8.5v (specified range is 8v - 9v). IF you try and program with over 9v, your PIC is toas...
