Re: Self generating patches....tips and ideas ?

every time i think i'm gonna need to buy more/new modules i read a post in this thread and realise i can solve my problem with what i have - theres very definitely a certain minimum toolkit which once you have it covered you can p much achieve any task if you just apply the right logic i love this ...

Re: Transformers For CGS67 Active Ring Mod - UK/EU

umber of the "Real Ring Modulators". I use 3mm blue "water clear" LEDs as diodes instead of the same-old/same-old germanium diodes. Works WAAAYY better. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/9827_ring_mods_with_water_clear_3mm_blue_leds__1_1.jpg Hey Rex or anybody who wants to chime in I have ...

Re: CGS51 weighted random switch + cgs55 analog switch matrix

I had one WRS that didn’t work for years and I was tearing my head out whenever I looked at it, I think in the end it was the logic chips as you suggest, I basically rebuilt it to no avail and iirc removed the chips to use elsewhere and then replaced them and it worked... Yeh it feels better that I...

Re:

The pots on my WRS are wired between +V and GND - ie fixed voltages to affect the weighting. Sorry to bump old thread AGAIN I'm having difficulty with my WRS which is strange because I can normally figure out the CGS builds I can get it to work but it locks up on one stage and won't continue. Only ...

Re: TL072 DC offsets

There are different versions of TL072/74, selected by max offset voltage A/B/C/I). When assembling modules designed by others, for sensitive points in control voltage paths I am using sometimes TL074B (3mV max compared to 10mV max for C version). TL052C I am using also. In rare necessity it may be ...

TL072 DC offsets

Sometimes the DC offset from a TL072/TL074 output is a bit frustrating and the bought PCB does not include a trimmer to zero out the DC For most purposes this does not seem to be a problem but sometimes it is.... Without a trimmer is there an opamp out there that has better tolerance on DC offset an...

Re: Trapezoid VCO

I am building the Trap VCO and Waveshaper boards from Harald. I thought I would document some of my experience in case it will help others. Firstly the CA3280E. I mistakenly thought that if I buy an expensive CA3280 from a reputable seller then I would be guaranteed a part that works. I have never h...

For sure there are more people interested in you panels but not everyone is here at Muffs. Try to post about your panels at these Facebook groups. They are all dedicated to 5U and MU and I'm sure there will be people interested in them. - 5U Modular synthesizers https://www.facebook.com/groups/5UMo...

Re: mmmmmultiples

[/quote] I can do the manufacturing of the module, switched multiples are fairly easy ( passive and no real PCB needed). Will look at switch dimensions and then send you an email... Re: mmmmmultiples

Just in case there is any confusion I merely propose to sell the panels only. I could manufacture them if there was enough interest but at this stage it is unlikely. Regarding the switch/mute multiples a panel would be easy enough but again manufacturing a module is not my expertise. I think I compl...

Re:

I learned a technique from Rob Hordijk called "poor man's reverb" where a ring mod is used to invert the phase with an envelope. It tricks your brain into thinking you're hearing a reflection and is super cool. Fascinating Can you be more specific Is it SIGNAL into RM and envelope into CARRIER? Do ...

Well I don't know about you guys but nowadays with all the "patch programmable" circuits I have available I am needing a lot more bang for the buck in terms of patchable inputs/outputs and multiples. Re: Patch cables. To DIY or just buy?

Does anybody have any links for good quality 1/4" patch cables in UK? I have built some in the past but I'm not inclined to do that again because of time constraints. Studiospares used to sell these Klotz patch cables which are awesome - I have about 40 of them but they are since discontinued. I was...

CA3080 projects/recommendations

Hi guys I've got a few CA3080E chips from many years ago I'd like to build something with them. I have a couple of state variable VCFs with 3080s and a Wave Multiplier. I was going to build some VCAs but I heard that they are a bit noisy for this purpose. Can anybody recommend something cool with 30...
