I never mix different makes of blind panels myself. Too confusing ergonomically. But hey, it's your system.

Thanks! I waited years for a good one to turn up. With compressors, I think for that purpose you should get as good as you can afford. Cheap compression can be cool as an effect but to put on the master buss and drive, you need something reasonable at the very least (also, with a side chain option r...

I got this recently. Fun. Sounds really good too. Intend to use it for a new LP going straight to 2 track revox (avoiding any digital) Yes, the main thing is to have the right tape for your machine and that the machine is in top condition. Worn out or badly adjusted analogue sucks! https://www.muffw...

Is it a 30 voice? My XTk occasionally needs to be rebooted when starting. I spoke to someone who used to work at Waldorf and he said it is the expansion board. It always boots though just sometimes needs 2 goes. A kind of annoying non issue. Anyway, probably not relevant but worth mentioning. If you...

Sad news.
I used to study music and recording in the 80's at Daylight studies where Tuxedomoon recorded
A cool group in a cool period of time for recorded music..

Dynacord VRS23 is a superb unit as mentioned above. I prefer the later ones that don't go into feedback myself. The reverb is brilliant and the delay sounds wonderful although mine tends to live on the reverb setting. On a more modern digital trip, I can recommend the Yamaha D5000. Probably the best...

I think Logic is great. I did have PT as I needed it for a project, but never upgraded it.. I have used most of the packages professionally and ultimately, each package does something slightly different/better than the other, but it's not much of a difference these days. Cubase, Logic, Studio One, A...

I wasn't personally a big fan of ELP, but he was a hell of a character and inspired so many other musicians.

Very sad news.
I probably first heard his work on a Peter Sellers record and then my parents had all the Beatles stuff. I loved it when I was growing up and still as a producer it is hard to think of someone as central to their artists work.
What a team they were.
RIP

They can be expensive, but you do see them sometimes for about 500. Condition is important though and I got lucky. Nearly mint.
I'd say $500-$1500 depending.

I just got this 1978 Marshall JMP. I used to have a JCM800 like it and regret selling it.
50W 2 x 12 (celestion G12M 25 watt Blackback speakers)
Stupidly loud, but sounds wonderful.

Not having a monitor is one big reason to not use a DAW in this instance. Not having to turn your computer on. For me it puts me in a different frame of mind than when I use the computer. Ya, but no different to turning on a mixer. Once I have Ableton loaded, unless I actually want to record(hit F9...

I guess this would be impractical but, I just got one of these and the speed with which you capture and the simple pleasure of working is much higher than on a computer IMHO. It really is quick, fun and as copy and paste isn't really available, you don't do it! I'm not going to swap over fully any d...
