jimmie Yes, both pieces took a lot of planning and time to program, several days each. I totally understand your point, it is not "playing an instrument" at all. On the other side, you know, we can call this video an improvisation, but not artists' - it is like you let your machine to improvise, fe...

I guess the Tempest has some kind of tb-303-ish fate. Of course T will not get that hype, here is what I mean: at first 303 was made to play instead of a bass player in a "live" band and failed. We all know what happened after. The Tempest was created as a drum machine, but in my hands it tends to ...

I'm thinking about getting one of these (asking him if he could fit banana jack and make it in-line)

There was a similar thread before and I saved it for my personal memo locally, so here am quoting it (am too lazy to search the exact thread :deadbanana: ) For reducing (attenuating) voltages for Ciat-Lonbarde gear like Tetrazzi, Sidrazzi, Plumbutter, Cocoquantus, you need in-line resistors, NOT 'po...

It's so often the same patch doesn't yield the same result. It's not because of the subtle knob position; more likely the caps' condition etc. So to replicate something exactly, even chord patching order needs to be in mind, or even more is that sometimes plugged some jack and then umplugged it (to ...

Very nice patch :tu: :tu: Thanks for sharing. By the way, I'm still after Plumbutter official page's example sound. Those are the sound made me to get a PB, bestest of PB for me. I can't get really the same sound no matter what. I think they were made by first version of PB and suppose that's the re...

Each deerhorn located on far end may matter controllability. I don't have one so I'm talking by my imagination but with the deerhorn organ each deerhorn is so close that it may be difficult to control left and right without interaction from each other (needless to say the center one). Other than tha...

I have an original MS20. ptich to cv tracking isn't great but the level of input and hi/low cut filtering make huge difference to accuracy of tracking. without actually measuring though I'd try to filter out the partials as much and focus on the fundamental freq for the input signal. again, the leve...

Did you already read PB's official site? In case not... http://www.synthmall.com/ciat-lonbarde/plumbutter/index.html This is the best place to begin with. I'm not a native English speaker so I had some difficulty understanding some part of the description but with actual PB in my hand most of them m...

PB has 3 line inputs: Gongues, AvDogs, and Deerhorn. Gongue's external in is filter, AvDog's like weird tremolo and Deerhorn does only volume change. Gongue and AvDogs' ins are not super clean so you get some character to the input signal. But nothing like harmonizer/pitchshifter or other modulation...

Personally I think many CL insts sound best at raw, because I feel they sound kinda more like acoustic insts than electric something. light reverb for atmospheric space isn't bad, tho. but I prefer to play them on amplifier (so not line-mixer-monitor) and real room acoustics. But it also sounds good...

I finally sold it. incredible machine, so wide potential, no doubt it. I think it's best for used stand alone, not with something else or part of yet another complex setting etc if you can use last bit of the beast. But then it demands concentration and dedication to the hell. It requires preparatio...
