Re: sequencer for "purposively" composing melodies

...a lot of fun to be had with many simple sequencers that modulate each other.

I prefer that over using a big do it all sequencer.

Re: Signal flow for live modular performance

...I use an external mixer with 2 fx sends. 1 send on echo, 1 send on reverb. Patched into external rackmounted fx. Love that.

Re: Behringer Pro-One

I agree that the digital envelopes are not very good sounding compared to analog. Envelopes are key to the sound, after osc and filter. I have many different ones in my modular and all have their sound character. I am very sad that Uli does not get this. It has an impact on sound, and it is causing ...

Re: intellijel SCALES

I had it for like 3 months, I really like it, they should make a 4X module so I do not have to buy 4 :)

works clean, and such a plus to see the notes going thru

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

Decided to try it since it looks like it integrates well in my workflow. I like stepping many cv sequencers interacting with each others, and I always wanted a good gate source, with variable gate length, flexible, etc.. so it looked like the metron is just want I wanted. The thing when sequencing x...

I love grooveboxes and yes there is not too many new ones. Except the 2 new rolands.... get that if you want a groovebox. I use SE Engine sequencer as a "groovebox" nowadays, 8 gate/cv and 2 midi outs, dinc sync and midi in... same workflow as any X0X machine, tight sequencer, lots of i/o... you can...

well they charged my visa for a module "arriving soon" 3 weeks ago.
Now I ask them to add 1 other module and ship it with the backorder (to save 48$ in shipping!) and it is too complicated... they don't want to do it

Re: so many used deep minds (synths)

any experiences to share? I have the rack version, I love it, and it is quite ergonomic and fun to program. A keeper for me, I'll sell my P08 before DM12 I do not like most of the presets, but since it is so easy to program... It has some of that Roland sound. Way more sophisticated than a juno, I ...

Are there many Deepmind users in here? I used to own a Juno 60, SH 101, MC 202, JX-3P and TR-606, but sold them all about a decade ago to go down the software route. And, perhaps inevitably, I have regretted it ever since. more or less the same story for me. I did the pawnshops in 1990 picking up a...

Well I have a nice modular, but I enjoy having semi-modulars and sequencers by the side... These days I really enjoy patching the modular, and the results I get are good for me. A big part of it is that I like modular sequencing! sometimes patching to a SEM is the fastest way to get started. But I a...

from the first post from tiptop: while the 8HP modules are designed mostly as compact in size end-of-the-chain effects and interface between the modular and line level gear. edited: I see this as a drawback. To me, most ext. mixers, even the crappy small ones take modular level just fine. And Delay...

Re: Joranalogue Add 2 - Precision Adder

I'm mostly looking to use it to add v/Oct signals together. I have the deopfer precision adder... my unit is not precise, but there is an adjustment pot.... I used an intellijel 2hp mixer, and it works fine, so the joranologue should work nicely. BTW, you can add voltages BEFORE going to quantizer,...

I agree that envelopes are more part of the character of a synth than usually credited... Some really are alive in a special way. Easy to hear with a modular. In the above youtube demo, at the end the original sounds better 100% of the time... even if it appears close in the comparison just before. ...

In fact no, some do not take a swinging clock

what I like the most is to sequence gates independently of cv... so a gate sequencer pushing 4 different sequencers and envelopes is my preferred setup.... I have yet to get the metron, I used a SEQ02 in the past and now I am using varigate4+... the SEQ02 was really useful but it was only cv/trigger...
