Hopefully hacks appear that combine two of these units, add midi, and merge the touch plate to a single control.

Any 2002 owners here having success with a swapped SD disc drive? I have the hxdc drive powered up, but haven't had luck using their images to load samples. The app noted earlier has been my lifesaver for listening to backed up discs (70+).

Ordered a Volca Modular yesterday. Delivery status is currently "Advised", whatever that means. . I'd advise 8-) either the Volca plug or a rechargeable battery solution with this synth after already swapping one set of AA's. This box chews through them if you wiggle with the little speaker on, per...

Super surprised they didn't even beef up the charge port to USB C and add CV in/out to this new price point.

DRM2 arrived stateside. What a lovely creation Bugman! Without even patching the box, there is a huge arsenal of sonic treats. Both ends of the spectrum are both weighty and bright. Candy for the ears all around. Thx!!

Scrounging my parts pipe unearthed a funny tabletop solution. If you have a rack with covers for the front/back, you can use that as a table top over an adjustable metal drum machine rack. Adjustable height with a durable finish and rounded corners. :bananaguitar:

I wonder if somehow TE will sprinkle us with open source possibilities after they have created a few modules for the Z. Why not allow collabs on the sample, instrument, and connectivity side. Everybody wins.

Didn't realise they were shipping already. Just read the review in Sound On Sound. They really like it, the biggest complaint is the reviewer ended up bending some patch cables as they were often in the way when trying to get to the pots. Will be interesting to see if that's a common complaint. Int...

Synth One app (free on App Store) syncs great to OP-Z, and responds smooth to keys/sequencer steps with adjustable latency settings. Midi CC learn is crazy fast to assign all 16 disc options to the app. Great way to use the midi 14-16 tracks without messing up your sequence.

Elektron Keys, boom! I really think that file management is where Elektron struggles. So much time was spent to cram everything into their baby displays, and even the newest stuff is dated and requires too much fiddling and navigation memorization for sound, sample, and project management. If you wa...

I’d throw the OP-Z into the hat if the corners weren’t so sharp. Maybe file it down smooth. At launch it’s not the deepest synth, but it’s potential is there with TE supporting their flagship stuff for years after launch. Full tracks can be had on this remote sized groove box. Battery life is a resp...
