My deepest sympathy to the whole family, and to the community. Mike was a huge influence on the world of synths, and an inspiration to us all.

Oh shit!
Like everybody else here, I owe a debt of gratitude to Mike for setting up this forum.
The collected knowledge around these parts regarding everything modular and beyond will never be surpassed.

Cheers Mike. :guinness:

I'm incredibly sad to hear this.

I have not been a member of this forum for long, but I've found it to be a fascinating community, and an invaluable resource for what is otherwise a rather isolating interest. Being a synth nerd can be lonely at times, but this site has given me a sense of belonging for which I'm extremely grateful. I'm sure many others on here have felt that benefit too. Mike enabled that to happen.

I would like to send his family and friends my condolences and sympathy at what must be an awful time. I hope things go as well as they can, that you are able to grieve, and to support each other through that.

I'm relatively new to modular and only knew who Mike was from the movie, Dream of Wires. That he connected and helped so many people, thousands, around a shared interest is really something and quite a legacy. However, I'm sure his loss to his family is far more profound and I extend all my best wishes to them.

I, along with a few other Muffwiggler users went to the wake and funeral this afternoon. We were all standing off to the side when Mike's mother made a point of coming over to us. She asked if we were part of Muffwiggler (I guess we all looked like synth nerds). Her face lit up when we said yes. We spoke with her and Kira. They were both very touched by this community's outpouring of condolences and the vastness of Mike's influence.

I was really lucky to have known Mike personally for the last 10 years, as we both lived in Ottawa. He was a friend and a contributing member of our city's synth community. He played shows with us, came to synth meets, hung out for pints. He was an all-round solid guy with a heart of gold. He loved this community so much and it's nice to know that the community has so much love for him.

Anyway, I'm gonna miss having him around, and the random late night texts asking if I'd be interested in buying his gear

I never had the chance to talk to him personally, but the community he founded has been instrumental in getting me back into making music again after decades away from it. I will be forever grateful to him for that. Rest in Peace.
