Patch is listed in the video description.
Oh, thank you. Guess I have always watched that either embedded from big city music's site or on my appletv.

My R54 mellowed out quite nicely after about 80 or so hours of run in . I suspect the r55 will take that long or longer to really shine. I've been running the M32's VCA out through the r55 and it sounds great. Just the right amount of pulse width adjustment and it cranks out some vicious wails that melt wallpaper.

So yeah more is better. :cloud:

Yes! I know I'll "need" another one. I've found that different tubes can result in a different tone, and more or less pitch stability. Personally I just bought an R54 mk2 and so far have had a lot of trouble using it as an OSC (followed the manual). So instead I'm currently just using it as a filter, which sounds great.

But I think I will grab another R55 this summer or early fall. It is such an amazing sounding module.

You should absolutely keep making them, Eric. As soon as funds are back in shape (estimated within a month or two), I'm going to order two of them (and an RK2) to complete my three-frame yellow banana-system.

I've saved up enough to buy one but I want at least 2 more.
The R-55 is my favorite VCO.

Have not decided yet. 2D21/5727s are becoming more difficult to find and rising in price as I've warned before. We managed to score a large supply of 5696s; easier to get and consume far less heater power, but are even more nonlinear and variable than 2D21s in a VCO circuit.

2050As would be far better for this, but they are getting VERY scarce. And I hate dealing with eBay nut-case hoarder/dealer types.

Apparently we have to make a few black ones. A "special customer".

Is the "special customer" that little millionaire in that industrial dance band?

You realize there are a few dozen people who could be described in that way?

No, it's not Reznor. Not an industrial artist by any stretch. You'll find out later, doood.

Do you know when Big City will have stock of them again?

But I'd be up for a pair with black panel instead if there were some going.

Yes never stop making these fantastic unique oscillators! I got the last two of the original batch (I think) from Big City Music. They form a core of my R-series system.

Thanks for liking them, I really didn't expect those things to continue to be popular. Thyratrons are evil little bastards. I should ask how many are just feeding an audio signal into the CV input and how many are using Hz-v CV inputs as a poll.
