Synth Tech from Blacet...

Post by bkbirge » Thu Feb 03, 2011 11:47 am

Just got this in email, thought you guys might like it...

Hi All:

I've had the opportunity to check out some of Synthesis Technology's new DSP modules. They are nice and compact, have interesting features hard to implement in a totally analog fashion and they sound very nice.

E340 Cloud Generator
E350 Morphing Terrarium
E560 Deflector Shield
E580 Resampling Mini-Delay

http://www.analoguehaven.com/synthesistechnology/

http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2011/01/ ... echnology/

Paul has had the foresight to include a MOTM/Blacet power connector on each board as well as the Euro connector. The size is also quite adaptable to the Frac footprint.

We have an opportunity to offer these in fully assembled Frac format. These are mainly surface mount and would be 90% assembled by Synthesis Technology's supply chain with the front panel assembly, testing etc performed by Blacet.

I don't expect to stock these in a normal manner due to minimum batch sizes and the complexities of an external vendor. The plan at this point is to make a small run of each module spaced out during 2011 based on advance orders.

The E350, which will be the F350, will be the first to be offered. Expected ship date is 4-1-2011. Look for an order link on our store page in a few days.

Any other feedback is, of course appreciated.

John Blacet

I wish this kind of cross-vendor coordination happened more often.

If you have a desire to buy any of these in the next 3 months, please email John and let him know. He's trying to judge interest, not "This is a great idea!"

All my ideas are great, but you have to vote with your pocketbook.

This is great news, but I'll have to see how my tax return works out to decide whether or not I can commit.

Yeah. I'm keen to see these with black panels.

Will the layout change like on the excellent BugBrand version of the MT?
Additional switches & attenuators?

Well... I haven't even fulfilled my original Blacet system plans yet that started in 2007.
While I think this is a "cool idea," I can't afford to commit to it at the moment.

I hope others jump on this and this grows!
Best of luck to Blacet and MOTM :tu:

It's the same price as the Euro version, so I'm not expecting any extras.

" F*C*I*G R*C*" --OK, I give up, not in my web speak dictionary!

They are DSP based (no one could afford a "pure" analog version or want to tote it around!). But they have lots of CV inputs that work fine. DSP has gotten very good--it's the future, get used to it.

Wow this is really cool for us frac dudes! My frac got turned into a diy overhaul, only open case being my nana euro.. So I'll just get the euro ones and ream those holes out but.... Almost on the fence about what to do. Really cool of mr. Blacet to offer this... Hope to god it helps bring frac back on the map, my first format I ever got into and LOVE the aesthetic :)

LONG LIVE FRAC!!!!!!!
