What are the advantages of having a controller with i2c capability for the Er-301. Say like the sweet sixteen or 16n?

You have access to all parameters you need with a 16 faders instead of menu driving and use the rotary knob, depending how complex are your patches it is really useful and practical let's say if you want to modify two or more parameters at the same time.

And the fact it doesn’t take up ANY cv inputs...
The sweet 16 also optimally ADDS 16 cv inputs.

But yeah, the 301 does not really have a very performance/playable interface... it has one knob.. A controller like this is essential.

How is midi handled with the sweet sixteen? Say sending it midi cc does that convert to i2c then into the 301?

additionally with using the 16n, i've found that having CV control using sliders via i2c frees up the physical inputs for lots of gates/latches. not that i need 16 of them, but certainly helpful if triggering samples or when using loopers to punch in/out.
