Parametric EQ modules
Hello!
Im looking for simaple modules for Parametric EQ.
No need for CV modulation.
Looking for a small HP module.
So far I found these, but none are exactly what Im looking for:
https://www.modulargrid.net/e/st-modular-stereo-eq
(hard to find, only DIY which I dont)
https://www.modulargrid.net/e/bragi-modular-frigg-eq
(hard to find, but seems to have the specs im looking for)
https://www.modulargrid.net/e/alm-busy- ... lm016-pe-1
(would be perfect if it had Q control, and maybe the possibility of useing each EQ in different sources)
https://www.modulargrid.net/e/mutable-i ... elves-2015
(really big, to much features for just 1 channel. Could be perfect if each EQ band have its IN/OUT, and no CV for each parameter)
https://www.modulargrid.net/e/cwejman-vceq-3
(really big, to much features for just 1 channel. Could be perfect if each EQ band have its IN/OUT, and no CV for each parameter)
Any feedback is welcomed, thanks!

can't go wrong with a Res EQ https://www.modulargrid.net/e/random-so ... ualizer-eq

Maybe have a look at the River Marble:
https://riversynths.com/product/marble/
Also, I know their shop is closed for the moment, but when they open back up this might be what you're looking for:

Happy Nerding Tritone. 3 bands, cv control, and the bonus of having individual outs per band.

Second this. Waiting for mine to arrive (I have used a Res Eq but never owned one). All of the Serge modules are amazing.dugoutcanoe wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 10:53 amcan't go wrong with a Res EQ https://www.modulargrid.net/e/random-so ... ualizer-eq
Re: Parametric EQ modules
This EQ is huge, deep, and DIY. Also try ADDAC.
Re: Parametric EQ modules
Love the Serge but it's not parametric, it's a fixed filter bank with unusual characteristics.
Picked up the Cwejman like over a decade ago when they weren't rare. To me that's the real deal though of course it has VC on everything. I think that's a key takeaway you either want VC or you don't and it ought to be much cheaper.
If you don't and you aren't live working out of a case then maybe you have what you want to get it for cheap(er) in a mixer?
If you do want all sorts of CV and only a band or two maybe you can get what you want with a HP, LP and inverter?

Re: Parametric EQ modules
It certainly LOOKS nice, but I've yet to hear one. Isn't it something like $600? I thought about getting one for a while, but no demos surfaced. Anyone can put a nice panel on a module; won't affect the sound.Multi Grooves wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 1:37 pmArrel Audio do a high end looking BAX parametric eq....look on MG
Any clips of it in action floating around?
It's done!

Re: Parametric EQ modules
I know the Serge Res EQ isn't parametric and doesn't even have CV control, but I'm kind of dithering between going for it, or going for the Katowice. Entirely different but demos of them both sound so good...

Re: Parametric EQ modules
I know the Serge Res EQ is like the gold-standard (though, not parametric), but is there anything "wrong" with just Shelves? It seems the bees' knees from what I can tell.

Re: Parametric EQ modules
Shelves is too much HP with lots of more functionality than what I want. I want it for subtracting the frequency region where the resonances are noisy. Usually between 400 Hz and 4 KHz. Every session its a different area, but through the session it doesn't change, so I don't need CV. I can Imagine modulating parameters for sonic movement, but I rather make it with a phaser, though a parametric MAY be a good idea, but its not what im looking which is to "clean" the sound.

Re: Parametric EQ modules
If you don’t want or need voltage control then you’re much better off using something that’s not in euro.

Re: Parametric EQ modules
I found I didn't use Shelves as much as I expected I would. It didn't feel intuitive to work with and I prefer software EQ for more surgical use. It does have other filter uses, but then I got a Blades.

Re: Parametric EQ modules
Hi, this is Morten from Bragi Modular. I hope it is ok that I join the conversation.Dadodetres wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 10:49 amHello!

The reason you find it hard to find one of our eq's is because you live somewhere we don't ship to?
Cheers!

Yup, for something more surgical, I got a great price on an Elyssia X Filter on Ebay... save your rack space.Stab Frenzy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 9:59 pmIf you don’t want or need voltage control then you’re much better off using something that’s not in euro.

I'd love the space for the L1 resonant eq..

Re: Parametric EQ modules
Thanks everyone for replys, lets keep de discussion open for more options, futur purchases, and more people who may be intrested in similar modules.
I brough the Frigg EQ from Bragi Modular. 2 bands of semiparametric EQ and switchable Hi pass. Its not fully parametric, but for the cleaning of the spectum im hoping it will work.
I saw also the XAOC Devices Katowise, which is much more than an EQ and may also serve purpuso plus more..... maybe for the future instead of Shelves if I want to CV the parameters.
