Is a recalibration of 1 v/oct output recommended after the chip swap?

Thanks!

I also paid in April, got no response after emailing, but mine did show up finally 3 weeks ago, so it seems a slow, low priority process...

arrived yesterday.... but haven't had the guts to do the upgrade yet. Thanks Toppobrillo - I had actually forgotten I ordered this, so it was a nice surprise.

it's easy. just unscrew the 2 screws on the back. slide the module into 2 and replace the chip. waggle it at both ends equally and it will pop out without bending the legs. make sure the new chip is orientated the correct way and put it back together. takes 5 minutes. :tu:

What worked for me.

From the website
To enable new "Trigger on Quantize" function: power on your new or newly upgraded Quantimator, and an animation will play on startup. It will 'hang' for a couple of seconds at the last frame- tap the MODE button 3X to toggle TOQ mode "on" or "off". You should see a "t" flash on the LEDs when enabling, and an "n" when disabling
If you can do that, you got the latest version.

Does anyone know if there will be another run of these? I've been looking for one for ages.

Remove the module from the rack entirely. Remove both screws and gently pull the back PCB off of the module. Once the screws are out it should come apart easily. On one side of the chip, there is a little notch like the one in the photo below. If you look closely at the socket, there should also be similar notch on the same side as the notch on the chip. This shows the orientation that the chip should face when inserted and fully seated. Now to remove the old chip, gentle push a tiny flathead screwdriver under the edge of one end of the chip, in between the chip and socket. Slowly work it up a little bit and then do this to the other. Go back and forth in this manner from one end and then the other until the chip pops free. Go slow and take your time to prevent bending or breaking off any of the pins on the old chip. Once it's out of the socket, put the new one in while paying close attention to the location of the notch in the chip to verify that the chip is facing the correct direction. Insert the new chip slowly to make sure no pins bend under instead of going into the socket and make sure that it is fully seated. You may need to bend the pins inward slightly so that it's easy to push into the socket. When they are new, the pins tend to push outward a little bit. The easiest way to bend the pins inward is to place the chip on it's side on your desk. Gently rock the entire chip to the side so all pins slightly bend at once. Again take your time and go slow. A little force goes a long way. So once the chip is inserted and you've quadruple checked that that it's seated properly, put the PCB back on the module along with both screws. Pop it in the case and fire it up.

This is one of the prototypes and not the actual production unit so it will look a lot different. Use this as a reference for identifying the notched "D" looking shape on the left side of the largest chip in the photo.

I wish I could answer your question as well but I don't know the nitty gritty specifics as to what changed in this firmware. I would suggest sending an email to info AT toppobrillo.com so it catches Josh's attention.
