Completed Eurorack synth.jpg
This is it, the synth I'd planned and budgeted for. I know it's only a tiny thing compared to most, but this one is mine, does what I want, and has semi modular and fixed path friends to play with. No more window shopping, I can't afford to keep buying modules, I'm going to squeeze every bit of juice I can out of this before I consider expanding. Anybody want to buy a surplus tin of 100 M3 Knurlies?
Congrats! Looks like solid module choices. How are you liking the Tonestar?

This is my favourite iteration of my system so far, doing my best to keep it to the one case. The keen eyed among you may be able to predict which modules I will be filling the blank spaces with, some may be harder to predict though! I plan to keep the system in a similar layout but some modules I plan to upgrade to newer versions or swap out with modules that perform a similar function.

The Tonestar is a fantastic main voice, which just sounds amazing no matter how I tweak it.

First post. Hello, my name's Edward. I'm especially keen on the Aussie companies Mungo Enterprises and Nonlinearcircuits:

I hope to (find time to) join in some fun discussions on here.
Wow you own a c1. Nice setup. NLC are always intruiging me.

That's a sweet setup! Like the little shelf u made to give u enough room for the larger flat case.

How are you using that launchpad-like controller?
Thank you! That shelf has been awesome, I am hiding a lot of wiring back there too :) I am using the Launchpad (Mini) with my Vector sequencer, and it has been amazing, it is a lot of fun and very intuitive/immediate here are some videos that display the usage better than I can lol:

Very much inspired by Serge panels, this is my mostly Mutable rack. Not shown is the 0-CTRL used for playing it.

Hey,
20210222_155000.jpg
This is a picture of baby steps into modular and semi-modular. I started exploring this huge area during Christmas, and things kind of escalated quickly. I initially bought a Mother 32, played with it, and got very enthusiastic. Then I added the Subharmonicon, scratched my head a bit before I got my head around the polyrhythms and all the oscillators. Soon after, I deep-dived into a Logic X Udemy course and added the Grandmother so that I have keys to play with. My limited musical background is from learning notes and theory on a Synth back in the 80s.

The case is home-made on a Laser cutter I ordered 64HP custom rails from Etsy to make it all fit into the Kallax IKEA shelving unit. I'm a computer developer by profession and I'm interested in Engineering and Electronics.

The Rack now contains my first homemade DIY module - a Simple passive Mult, with two inputs and 6 outs. It can also work as one input 6 out. Have to start somewhere! Can't have too many utilities. I probably want to make something with a PCB next, possibly also with a Microcontroller.

Hardly one year into modular... it all started with a neutron which by now had to leave the case again and is back in it's original habitat.

Been there done that :hihi:

Nice Rack, Chapeau! :yay:

First time full in 4 years. Will probably slim down a couple modules, and then a palette overflow, rinse and repeat!

Control skiff.

Really necessitated by a shift to two big vertical cases, which made a lot of the hands on stuff complicated.

Then two Doepfer theremin arrived and I clocked the beauty of having this case as a portable solution for the downstairs and upstairs racks 😎

Kitchen synth (plumbutter not included) also pictured. It awaits a fracture.
