Here is my modular rig. Two Intellijel 84HP 7U cases, with joiners.
The last module I've added was Frap Tools USTA. I've been accessorizing it - Frap Tools black hex screw on the bottom, Befaco knurlies on the upper modules, and I'm about 80% complete with the Befaco Bananuts conversions - using a colour scheme derived from Buchla -Black CV inputs, Purple bipolar outputs, and blue unipolar outputs, gold gate outputs, orange gate inputs.
I have the system very deeply integrated with my Ableton Live/Push 2 setup, and a Universal Audio Apollo 8 interface.
I typically have it setup with 3 stereo output feeds:
  • Intellijel Mixup passing through a stereo channel of my Line 6 Helix Rack for effects, going to Apollo via SP/DIF;
  • Intellijel Dubmix - My main mix, and for voices that need CV modulated panning and AUX effects, with the other stereo channel of my Line 6 Helix Rack for the AUX loop, and balanced XLR output via Audio IO 1U;
  • A Intellijel Stereo Out, with balanced audio to Apollo - typically patched to Make Noise Mimeophon.
I drive CV and Gates from Ableton using both the Intellijel µMIDI 1U (1 voice, and all clocks) and Expert Sleepers FH-2 (USTA controls, CV modulation, and a second sequenced voice).
About 75 of the recordings on my SoundCloud were performed with this, and my Sequential Prophet Rev2. Absolutely love this machine.
With USTA - I am now capable of doing a live ambient performance without a computer... working on some ideas for that.

Great rack and I love your Bananuts color coding! Makes me want to give my rack that same treatment.

My attempt at dodecaphony, following all of the twelve-tone serialism rules but still fashioning it the Lisa style that you all know and love. ;)

Here it is, just a couple weeks old. Continuously impressed with the range I can get out of just these few modules, truly loving this adventure.

Latest version with the recent addition of the Voltage Multistage, Noise & Filter and the lovely Lxd.
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy your IG music and I find it inspiring to see your rack.
What would you say is the most important piece of it ? The sequencer ? Mixer ? VCO ? Effects ? Modulators ?
I'm more thinking that the sequencer and mixer is the most important after all ... Any sound will do.
Thanks a lot, always nice to hear !
The Performance mixer was definitely the most "game changing" piece of hardware I got, it brought everything together, I love it. I really like the Drum Sequencer as well, it's easy, it's fun to use. That first row hasn't changed in a year + while the rest is always shifting (but much less so since I've focussed on Verbos - bar certain essentials like the LIP).
Thanks for your feedback.
I feel like mixing is indeed very important to wrap everything up nicely. I've no space and finance (but also not enough sound source to mix) for the PM, maybe in the future :)

Current case - MDLR 20U custom. Waiting on a couple of things to fill the last gaps - particularly, the CV16 expander, which should show up soon, the E520 whenever my pre-paid unit shows up and a Kermit MKIII which I haven't picked up yet. That leaves the 1U row in the top half and then it's on to the expansion case..

Here's the MG plan in case anyone's interested: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1069993

Thanks! Yes, the thing is a tank. Definitely too huge and unwieldy to take on gigs (without a crew haha). It's basically not moving from this spot - I just happen to love the form factor over other solutions and Arjan was also kind enough to implement the 1U rows and an overabundance of busboards in there per my request, so I'm very happy with it overall.

Here's the case by itself;

I'm currently on a second iteration of the cardboard case. Can't justify spending a bunch of money on a decent one, so I guess it's going to grow until uZeus can't take it anymore :mrgreen:

Never posted pics before, let's try. I have two racks. The first is my drone rack, which has been largely static for about 18 months. The Instruo filter is the newest addition and is only maybe permanent. This is the rack I've spent the most time with.

IMG_8778.JPG

My second rack is a little more ad-hoc and gets used with the rest of my samplers and synths for more rhythmic house/techno stuff. Some of this rack is just runoff. The the racks don't talk to each other very often but the octalink is helpful when I need to drag a utility or effect from one rack to the other.

Here's my system, really happy with it! I was going for a mostly self-contained techno-system with a lot of room for experimentation. I'll probably add a TipTop Hats909 and maybe a Lapsus os but that's about it 8-)

Thanks! A lot of the time I actually just use it as a midi interface, since I don't have a dedicated module and my FLXS1 can't deal with midi for some reason (even though it should..). But every once in a while I'll use it to control a synth voice and it's always so incredibly rewarding to play with a keyboard (I use sequencers most of the time). Also, the arpeggiator is sick!
