would love to bump this to tease paul to get us more info on this

I'm considering a quad module like the harvestman Argos Bleak or this E102
or even the O_C as a companion for my, soon to be created, E370

Would like to see the scale modes function come back to life on this, otherwise hoping for this one too! :cloud:

Well, now that the E370 is shipping later this year, would be a good time to do these!

By the way, I suggested the option to have the 4th output feed back to different inputs (1,2,3) so you can have "channels" loop while allowing for the other channels to solo over.

Who'd ever solo over using a modular you ask? That sounds weird you say?
I'm glad! Here's a video of me doing exactly that using the E102 in conjunction with a CV recorder. Doing this with just the E102 would be :sb: :sb: :sb:

Mind you I'm taking advantage of the E102 fully here. Solo sax sound is using my home made Gate-on-every-E102-note-change, while I'm using the 2nd track of the E102 along with a manual gate to play bass notes. Tracks 3 and 4 are looping the original incoming sequence before I stopped the sequencer. Adding this as a feature on the E102 means you could mess about with the delay in real time while changing your original sequence on tracks 1 and 2.

By now I'm mostly expecting paults will decide it's not worth it and give us the schematics or explain how to make a DIY option for the looping.

other than the ability to spew out some cool ass digital noise what is the difference between the E102 and the O+C copier machine app

and is there a way to create that noise from the E102 in somewhere like Ableton or whatever else comes to your mind?

thanks

I'm gonna bump this thread each month until we get the module or some insights on a DIY option!

Tried feedback from the 4th output directly to the input and it was much fun!

I too am interested in this, having just discovered the entry in Modulargrid for it.

Is the looping mode simply a switch closure on the expansion connector?

If it was we would have diy'd it by now.

Actually it is, but I'm not willing to risk messing around with it as it is connected to the chip and connecting the wrong pin might mess the module up. Isn't it a pity? Should be an easy DIY (I imagine) if you only want the loop option. I haven't dared experiment with the expansion pins.
As far as I know, Synthesis Technology is still planning to release the E103 expansion module for the E102 so eventually those pins will serve a purpose. As far as the signals on the 8-pin header, there are some power and ground wires as well as some signals to drive a chain of LEDs that display status within the 4 S/H stages of the E102 and some switch closure signals back to the E102 for various operating controls. I'd be cautious about trying to lash-up any DIY approaches to this primarily because some of these signals connect directly to the MCU on the E102 and there's some potential for damaging it.
Anybody who knows what those pins output and care to comment?

Also, what is the feature set? Last time I checked you were still debating whether the input jack would support Gate or Footswitch. Are any of the suggestions made in this thread still viable for inclusion?
