It's already, by his own admission on the site, a borderline sexist joke... let's not make it any worse :despair:

Oh right, I see now that you were talking about the power cables :D I thought you meant something to do with the Drum Boy / Drum Girl modules

I think it's correct, the 'pins' of the shrouded headers are 'male' and the holes on the plug 'female'... confusing but i think that's the conventional way to label them

So, what's everyone's all-time-favorite Ladik module?

The man is clearly an android with super powers based on his current track record and in-production module count, but if you could only keep one of his modules, which would it be and why?

personally, I think Ladik's genius is in his sheer range of utilities, with no one utility tending to stand out: you just need a bunch of them for each patch.

But if I lost this rack to say, a random exploding wolf, I'd make sure I rebuilt it with his joystick and jmath first, and then the other logic ones, and the sequencer, and the eq and quantiser and gate delay and...

C-015 Gated Slew - excellent for adding auto generated occasional portamento/slides.

Most used: J-110 Derivator
FS: Pedals and Euro modules, Delta Labs, dotcom Q128 for 37.00

If only someone sold power cables with a few sockets.

Something like this:

Ladik M-175 and Ladik C-240

Post by SonicVoltage » Thu Nov 28, 2019 11:56 am

Recently got some new addition to my few Ladik 'Red' modules

the M-175 mixer module and the C-240 VC Envelope

Image

the M-175 will go in a portable case when away from my main audio interface and the C-240, gave it a first test here into the CV In of the 2HP VCF1, but it was a quick patch so I didn't even get to CV the C-240 inputs yet

I like these red faceplates

Looks gorgeous  I also received the C-240 today with a J-110 Derivator. Both awesome modules. (also got a free cable hanger and couple of extra knobs :yay: )

Me too! I'm just wondering why the bottom three pots on the mixer don't have nuts.

Used the newish web ordering page (versus the old e-mail him an order style) and finally ordered:

LADIK L-122 UNCERTAIN LFO
LADIK S-610 COMPOSER N
LADIK L-010 ANIMATOR

Ordered Nov 25 and received Dec. 5 - Czech Rep. to Southern California USA - excellent packing, extra knobs (not enough white ones though) and the free cable hangar that the next Wiggler who buys from me will receive gratis.

Will be hooking them up tonight for a test drive.

Ladik has become one of my top/favorite module makers.

edit - damn the L-010 is DEEP. It won fit in front of a standard Doepfer case buss board, only in the very corner slot. Glad it fits at all.

Yep.

Right now I have CLOQ 1/16 split out into an ADSR (that controls an WMD/SSF Amplitude VCA) and an ASol GT8 Gate Sequencer. The GT8 goes into the Clock In of the S-610 Composer N. The CLOQ 1/4 goes into the Composer N Enable input. I switch the GT8 live as I play. It is a huge module but so good for improv - drums or bass lines.

For audio in this patch I have a Malekko/Richter VCO II Saw 1 and 2 out into a mixer into the Amplitude. The VCO II Phase Mod. is controlled by the new LADIK Uncertain LFO (which is also excellent).

BUY! :tu:

The controls add a ton of versatility. Slow or fast, it is real cool. BUY!

This Ladik thread hasn’t had any love for a while, so I thought I’d post my recent order. Please share any experiences with these?

R-120 Random+Quantiser
U-070 Gate/Tap
J-011 Joystick Math
Power bus extension cable 7x male

I didn’t understand the J-Math before, but now it looks to be the ultimate sum-difference-inverter-rectifier module. Looking forward to it.

vj is happy to modify the power extension cable if you want other combinations. I’ve asked for 9x connectors.

I want these modules to join my growing Ladik row which looks like:

U-075 Dual Arcade Manual Gate/CV
C-410 Clock source
B-011 Sequential2 - logic (flip flop/latch)
J-120 Comparator
L-010 Waveform Animator
D-430 Drum Boy
+
R-120 Random+Quantiser
U-070 Gate/Tap
J-011 Joystick Math

Are there any good companions you’ve paired with those?

Maybe one day I’ll have a complete Ladik case... #loveladik

Having just come from a thread about Eurorack module aesthetics, I have to say that the stripped-back 1950s lab aesthetic of Ladik's modules is really refreshing. Nothing pretentious or Xtreeeeem, just a sturdy panel, clear labelling and clean layout. An entire system of this stuff would probably look extremely businesslike- all those sober unflashy utility mods :sb:

I am 100% going to pick up one of these, not exactly a sexy module but very useful looking.

I bet you could build a decent analogue computer with Ladik modules!
