amazing idea if it can remember patch cord locations - i could think of an easy expander for that so youd never have to keep that magic patch up.

Is this a tablet board or a small motherboard, i am just wondering, because it would be cool to plug my xite-1 in to and have modular4 in my modular. (Yo dawg) but it needs a pcie x4 slot ot expresscard receptacle.

Even though it's running a core i5 cpu and not a typical tablet cpu, I highly doubt that the main board in that module will include a pcie riser slot (where would you access the pcie riser card?) An express card slot doesn't seem as unlikely, but still unless it is front-panel accessible, access will be difficult.
Disappointment with any module is usually a failure of imagination.

A pc in my rack? Honestly it's my worst nightmare.
But then again to everyone's its own, that's the beauty of modular.

Sorry, I hate to be such a downer :despair:

For me, other embedded solutions are less attractive because I always wonder "why not just make it a general-purpose computer?" I would rather run Max or Pd on an embedded system, so this looks great.

My biggest reservation, aside from finances, is the integrated display. I expect displays to fail. If the displays are reliable, available and easily installable, then I am all for this.

I'm also curious about the integrated I/O in conjunction with a USB audio interface. How is the I/O accessed in software?

yeah, this is just not for me. I am into modular to get off my computer. The fact that you could brows muffs on it makes it even less appealing to me.

BUT - that's just me.

Basically this is a computer with a Eurocentric I/O interface and a display. The Mac version would get into licensing problems but they could easily make a version that had all the I/O and the display and that a Mac Mini could slot into and use. Too Bad the new Mac Minis are too large for Euro panels (the old one just barely fit).

I got into euro to get away from the computer, but it's a cool option for people who want it. Looks expensive.

Cool idea, like a euro Muse Receptor or a euro Open Labs unit.

YES! This is so awesome. How deep is the module? Looks like it's in a pretty big case.

Hopefully it has 'ski free'!

Seriously though, a SuperCollider/Linux module sounds awesome.. I'm planning to do something for myself with a beagle bone black and a small textual display.

It will run just about any VST. I'm showing Reaktor and Blackhole right now.

can't wait to have system 63 running on it :yay: I can see how some won't like But I can see how forward thinkers will love it. (not so different from haven digital modules like the erbverb, braids etc. this just can do much more... )
to each their own, I personally think it could be great. though I hope there is an later option with a break out for a external tablet as a screen that would really be bad ass. (maybe just plug in to usb to do that?
