This is sick!!! Love the sound of the LIP. And your percussive sounds are always so awesome.
Love the sound of your drums too !
How do you get that « woosh » effect on your first kicks ?
Hmm, I think you're talking about the part where I mess with the decay on the kick?
I don’t know if it’s The decay but I don’t think as it’s before the kick, like a small reverse effect.
Maybe Only The pitch, that goes up slightly at the start and then goes to a lower frequency with an exponential envelope...Or compression ?
You can hear it clearly at the first kicks of your track
Anyway, I love it !

Rings takes a lot of the glory, but LIQ is providing the Vangelis style sweep, which is then fed into Rings (pinged with 1v/oct sequence). You can hear the LIQ's envelopes being triggered by the 1/16 note pulse.

Effects courtesy of Clouds and Chronoblob.

That was intensely beautiful! Gonna go put my LI through Rings now

Here's a snippet of some LI being fed into Rings for some ambient string pad-like sounds, a module combination I utterly love.

My LIP is permanently linked to the Verbos Bark Filter Processor. Here it's providing some textural percussion at the beginning and later some simili riffs as I play around with the settings; but I should definitely have had a few more knob "presets" in mind when trying to improvise like this. Hopefully it will come :)

I love my LI. I wasn't at first... but after modulating the hell out of it, it's grown on me like an awesome digital plant that it is.

I wonder what are the different ways and strategies you use to get percussive and metallic sounds? e.g. which mode is your fav and what's your chain like?
I've been thinking of picking up BIA for percussive duties but I want to make sure I give LI a go at this first.

Thanks!

Anyone have experience with the LIP triggered by Mutable Instruments Grids? My LIP doesn't seem to be triggered by the Grids, even though Grids is working as it should be, and the LIP works with other gate/trigs.

Thoughts? Might I be doing something wrong?

Thanks

In the beginning, the LIP was a tough module to get into. My daughter still calls it the "styrofoam rat" module due to the crazy sounds I initially got out of it haha.

After a bit of time it finally clicked and the sounds seem to be infinite you can get out of it (beautiful, heavy, dark, aggressive and yes....the styrofoam rat still occasionally). It has gone from my most frustrating and nearly hated module, to one of my absolute favorites. It never ceases to surprise me and after all, happy accidents are the biggest appeal to modular for me personally.

Highly recommended.

20 minutes of just LIP, with panning modulated at audio rates.

Well NE announced a new range of modules at NAMM, including a stereo vco and stereo reverb....both of which can have new algorithms added via firmware updates....so it could be something to do with that? :despair:

I doubt the new vco will replace the Loquelic like for like though, so it’s definitely still well worth getting. Amazing module!

Unless they sell the firmware, which would be a nice profit center with little extra work.

But I am taking my LIP to the grave!

I'm doubtful as well, plus the new voice platform doesn't have enough CV inputs to "duplicate" the loquelic iteritas. I think they'll be going in new directions anyway, rather than re-treading old ground to cannibalize existing modules.

To be honest, these "used price speculation" threads always annoy me anyway.
