I think it is a most awesome thing :hyper: :love: :hyper: but Igor said the distributors weren't interested in it?!?!?! :eek: :despair: :doh: :roll: I can't think of why some serious eye-candy like this wouldn't seem like a good seller unless it was too expensive or something? :hmm: I don't think he's going into production with these :waah: but maybe if there is enough interest that might change? More information and demos would help.

Here's what I know from what Igor told me:

Features
* input jack
* output (headphones ready)
* brightness trimpot hole on the front panel
* bar graph level trimpot hole on the front panel
* 30 rectangular LEDs correspond to 30 dB of amplitude range
* can show signals from line levels of +-0.5 V to +-12V in full scale
* logarithmic scale reacts like software peak meters in DAWs

Use To Monitor
* modular output level to avoid clipping in effects and sound cards etc
* line input to modular to avoid overloads
* know that output level isn't too hot before plugging in headphones or amplifier
* helping your rig look MARVELOUS, because when you look marvelous you will FEEL mmmMMMARVELOUS! :party: (Igor didn't say that, I added this one! :hihi: )

Igor said he had done samples with blue and yellow LEDs but had been planning on green LEDs if he did a production run.

waiting since ever for such thing. :love:
though it should work for audio AND CV.
...everything else is a little bit of a waist, not ? at least in my opinion it is
For sale / reduced prices ( swiss (we are NON-EU)/ in case it makes sense_ EU/WW)(CHF +- = $):
lowered prices: Dotcom Q960: 650.- / Q119: 420 / ( i also have one or much likely two 19" Frames)
ATV A-Frame incl. Accu and Bag: 830.-, like new, quasi unused.

I can understand why distributors would pass. Eurorack is already a specialty enough market with a huge amount of manufacturers. They cant afford to stock everything. This is not a core function and there is more demand for a o-scope module among the folks that will expand beyond a skiff of the basics. Also there is a less pretty meter put out by division 6 that is around $120 USD on the market already, which several places have in stock. (no idea how well it is selling)

I'd personally consider buying this assuming it gave reliable precise/accurate metering and the price was reasonable. However, as pretty as it may be - it will always be a secondary priority to a new VCO or waveshaper. I could see this as a something I'd tack onto an order but not be the primary module I buy in a purchase. I'd likely get one or more eventually. There within lies the problem: the retailer needs something that they can expect to move reasonably quickly rather than eventually or else their money is tied up in inventory.

Looks nice as a general meter! But you'd be better off going with the Division 6 VM

WRONG! I'm better off having the Happy Nerding LED meter AND the Division6 VM AND the AudioThingies CED . . . all in the same rack! :party: :goo: :sb: 8-) :miley:

Can't personally see the point in it, unless it was accurate and offered some kind of legend to tell what volts are at what level. If its just for Das Blinkenlichten, then sure. ;)

LED Meter is best suited for audio level metering. Can show CVs too, but you should account for logarithmic scale and some smoothing applied, which is required for better visual appeal.
There is a jumper on the back side to select AC/DC input coupling. But the user should always mind not to listen with headphones in case DC coupling is chosen and there is much DC offset in that signal.

Looks great, Igor! :tu: A couple questions:

* mono or stereo input?

* mono or stereo output?

* module depth?

- mono input and mono output
- comes with adapter, which makes mono output to be connected to L & R headphone pins, so those who like to listen headphones with both ears are not disappointed
- depth is 4 cm

You can never have enough blinky lights. Last year I designed the Levin module:

https://www.cesyg.co.uk/page/products/e ... les/levin/

Image

Note: the picture is not entirely correct as the display is a moving dot, yet the slow response of the digital camera makes it appear as a bar.
Frequency response is flat from DC to 10kHz.

Forgot to mention: the input signal is fully rectified before being measured and shown. Thus in case bipolar LFOs are measured – they will blink with twice the frequency, as both halves are shown.
It is made on purpose, because some level spikes happen only on one side and cannot be ignored.
