What about different colours for positive and negative voltages?

Jcsveth
Due to 4 HP width and dense layout it is very unfriendly for DIYing.
moofi
It can not be made with bipolar leds at the moment.

Sorry, no Canadian distributor.
The closest place is Analogue Haven with yellow and blue color versions currently available.

New version of the “LED Meter” – can now show bipolar control voltages. Audio level meter mode is also possible with the jumper settings.
It is not yet available, limited amount will be available from me directly in around 3 weeks.

Is it only a log scale, or is it linear? I would like to measure CV and was considering the yellow&blue meter with zero in the middle. Is there any chance it can be green (+ve top half) and red (-ve bottom half)? Or all one colour, such as orange in a black panel?

There were only a handful of Yellow-Blue meters produced. Currently only the green version is available with optional silver/black front panel.
By default LED Meters are sold with installed jumper, which sets bipolar measurement with zero at middle and linear scale. Removing the jumpers switches operation to
unipolar log scale, which is common for audio indicator.
Bargraphs are custom made and I can only choose the available color options. I do not meet quantity requirements for other colors.

What is the current draw of those big LEDs?

There is no stable current draw: the user can change the brightness with a trimmer, and not all leds are shining at the same time for most signals. So it is around 150 mA maximum possible.

Thanks igorrr, very helpful.

Is it possible for the bipolar mode to display a single LED for the voltage instead of a bar of LEDs?

The program can be changed for single led indication, but it will be a bit hard to understand the readings, because mid line is not obvious. With several leds active it is more clear.

The Paratek meters look very cool. Is it possible to make the VU LED meters into bipolar voltage meters?

I would love a small Nixie voltmeter (-9.9v to +9.9v) combined with an LED bar graph of voltage (bipolar). In 6HP!
