hello, just picked up a secondhand Knit Rider, does anyone know how to determine if it's got the 1.5 chip update?

Just check if any of the latest features are present, eg:

Press FN + PTRN/Mute combo and then afterwards PTRN/mute button. This button should now light up. Now simply pressing on a voice will mute/ummute it, meaning you're on 1.5
