Mutable Music Things - Ears module

Post by Thonk Support » Tue Sep 13, 2016 9:15 am

We don’t normally stock non-DIY products at Thonk, but when Olivier offered us a worldwide exclusive on the first batch of his new Ears module… how could we refuse?!

This module brings together two of the most (if not the most..) prolific and creative designers in the open source Eurorack scene, Mutable Instruments and Music Thing Modular.

Ears is Mutable’s take on Tom Whitwell’s Mikrophonie module, Ears is a perfect match for physical synthesis modules like Rings or Elements, but it can also be the gateway between external audio sources and your modular system.

Are you going to have 24 hours of press conferences to reveal the new module?!

Looks 4HP to me, that looks like a touch contact to me, I'm sticking to my guess of some sort of pressurey strumming control module?

I wonder if there's a spring mounted on there somewhere. I'm just thinking about all the cool prototypes Tom's shown with tape heads/guitar pickups etc.

Well, this will finally allow me to order some selco knobs from thonk as well. :)

Is it just a rebranded, already built mikrophonie or something different?

I doubt Mutable Instruments would put their name under a 'simple' re-release of an existing module. I'm hoping for something cool and new

Looping audio recorder based around the Mikrophonie? Can be synced to a clock input based off Olivier's time shifting studies when the Clouds was being prototyped?

Hm, last time I read anything mutable everyone raved about there is no " hype advertisment" but straight "hey folks, here it is"... Times are changing I guess
