Has anyone used printable aluminum before? This company does custom sizes/prints. I imagine you would need to maybe settle here, not sure.

but what if you somehow coated your existing panel with some vinyl coating so that the vinyl heat transfer would work?

Yep, those are the typical 6mm D-shaft knobs used by most Euro manufacturers so the knobs I linked to are identical replacements for the ones that MN uses.
Thanks a lot!

Where/when can we buy these and the others you've made?
Sorry I missed your post, you can find them at https://bkmpanels.bigcartel.com
Maths should be available in a month or so.

Thank you

Hey, was wondering what sort of things worried you about the build quality of the BKM panels? They are made from 2mm thick FR4, the most common PCB sizes are 1.6mm and 1.8mm. 1.6mm can feel a little flimsy and easy slightly bendable. But moving up to 2mm thick they feel pretty solid and do not flex.
If located in the states I'd be happy to send you a second/off panel to let you feel and see it in person.

I can confirm the BKM feel very solidly made and are nearly undistinguishable from make noise black and gold panels.

I thought i noticed in pictures that sometimes pots or buttons aren't properly centered in the gold-ringed openings for them on the panel, also it seems as if the printing on the panels would be easily damaged or rubbed off. These concerns are more aesthetical rather than functional.

I admit i haven't seen any in person and i like the look. I am based in Europe.

The printing is resisting fine. The layer is quite thick and I think it sticks better to PCB than aluminium. Only time I had issue with paint scratching off was with the Noise engineering panels. Those have really weak printing.

No problem with the opening alignment neither on those I got.

The Sequential Switch Matrix + Expander would be awesome to Black & Gold too.

@retoid if you are mad I keep asking and haven't bought (if you are keeping track that is) I have an additional 208hp en route and will be making purchases shortly. Cheers!

I still need to source out some replacement knobs for Maths but I absolutely love the way it looks in black. Props to Grayscale for the awesome design!
Nice...I just replaced four NE modules with the black panels. I also have white switch caps arriving today. I also ordered red, yellow and green caps to see what they look on the Mimetic Digitalis to match the LEDs.

Also recently ordered some white knobs for my Maths here:

ROGAN KNOBS

Not sure if you are in the US, but if you are in Europe, there is a thread here about MN knobs with a link to a Euro dealer as well.

Cool panels, can I ask what the name of the font? I'd like to use it for some custom projects.

Thank you but it's not a font, I draw each letter in a PCB CAD application following a grid. It's drawn with straight lines that have rounded edges.

Just a shout out to BKM panels. Ordered a couple recently and they are exceptionally high quality. Essentially a dead on match for the Make Noise B&G panel style.

Here's my small traveling eurorack. Yes it's only half black but you can see the grayscale black erbe verb panel. Also you can see my blacked out tetrapad. That turned out to be super simple - just remove the panel, mask off the line of numbered jacks and spray it black. There are no other labels on the panel to worry about.
