Nope, it has a usb port on the back. Only A few of our older models required the USB-ISP dongle.

It mentions the 'Launch event'. Hoping it would be available to order on that day?

Sorry for the delay, sometimes things are difficult :). Our office building flooded last weekend— no major damage (fewf) —it just displaced a lot of our workspace and our video room. So... between production delays, intellijel family stuff, and the flood, believe me, we are excited to get this thing out the door and into your hands.

The Tête is $299, dealer orders are coming in and we are shipping to dealers as of today.

I'll be doing a Live stream on YouTube next week Thursday, Dec. 12 for the Launch. Link:

We will also launch the Webpage and Manual on the 12th to coincide with the live stream.

tl;dr—
$299, Shipping to dealers today. Launch, Live Stream and Manual will be live on Dec 12, 2019.

Yes! Hope to have it before I start my vacation at the end of the month. Getting to know Tete will be a nice way to spend it. ;)

i2c is just the communication protocol/bus between the Tête and Tetrapad.

Some more feature details and a pic on MG ( https://www.modulargrid.net/e/intellijel-tete- ). We have added a few things since posting it up on MG, we'll launch the website and the manual the same day as the live stream.

Haha, we'll post the live stream for watching for anyone that can't tune in, it will simplify a lot of things. The manual is pretty repetitive so when you look something up you don't have to jump around a ton to piece info together. The index will tell you a lot about the contents.

But if you look at the manual it is comprehensive and clear with a lot of images. There are four pages just on installing the module.

I give the manual a :tu:

Will be tuned into the live stream, and I look forward to some bite-size videos. No complaints about the manual—it looks thorough, but understandable. Already understand most of the Tetrapad functionality Tete looks great—a modulation powerhouse.

Just digging in, but noticed that there are two i2c connectors on the back of Tete. Any chance in the future it could connect to multiple Tetrapads?

We didn't want to close off the possibility.

Are you kidding me? Shitty documentation is one of the main reasons people fail to connect with a module and flip it on the used market, thereby creating a distorted market and making it seem to the manufacturer like it’s okay to underdocument (“lots of people bought it so the docs must have been fine”).

For the long-term health of our practice and our industry, I think releasing a fat manual before the module is even launched is the strongest sign of good faith and positive intent from a manufacturer.

I read manuals while I’m eating breakfast, I read manuals while I’m hiding in the bathroom at work, I read manuals while I’m at the pub drinking. The better they are, the more I cherish the module.

In fact, I bet if next year (2020) I only bought modules (of any age) with amazing manuals I’d be happier and more productive than if I bought whatever comes up at NAMM or Superbooth and has no docs at launch.

Keep in mind that there are 3 fairly distinct modes on the module. You can spend a *lot* of time using just one of those without even diving into the manual for the other two. Combo mode has a bunch of different slider types so there's a lot packed in here...

At first I thought it was odd that Tete didn't hook up to multiple Tetrapads from the start, but splitting the pads allows a lot of functionality with a single Tetrapad. Still would be nice to spread out over two Tetrapads--especially if you're programming in 16 chords for a performance. Will be interested to see how playable the pads are when divided into four sections.
