I got my Twin Waves installed yesterday and have spent several hours fooling with it. This is a great sounding and well thought out module, I'm really pleased with it so far and I've barely scratched the surface of all it can do.

Noice!

Is it possible to get a chord mode added in a future update? Or is that outside of the module's hardware capabilities? I'd give an arm and a leg for a chord mode.

Given the computation load, a chord mode is not feasible.
The good news is that you'll stay in one piece!
Thanks for the request. :zen:

Hi,

Will it be possible to constrain the 7 sine waves frequency of the additive algorithm to the selected quantization ?
Maybe a 4th mode (odd, even, all, quantized).

Marco.

Any news on a future update?
Love to see the implimentation of wavetable and formant oscillators.

Here it is!
NEW: The pots can be locked in each section to avoid accidental detuning :lock:
NEW: There is now a VCA feature in VCO mode :headbang:

FIX: The quantizer base note CV control is corrected 8-)

>>> Link to the full package with audio update and new user manual.

Enjoy! :zen:

Unfortunately, these are two examples of synthesis that won't fit in the already busy processor and storage limits.

Fantastic update!

:yay:

Must've been reading my diary as I was about to suggest some kind of VCA functionality....just had to wait until the forum came back to life.

Thank you!

Wow, this oscillator keeps getting better and better. VCA is a wonderful addition, especially since I use the Twin Waves in my lunchbox case. Awesome!

Hi,

i have a little problem when in quantize mode, offset configuration.
The second oscillator update to the new note with a slight delay compared to the first oscillator.

I dont recall it in the previous firmware. Anybody noticed it ?

Marco.

Marco.
Any tuning difference between the two osc will make that a progressive change in CV will switch the notes at a different time.
Nothing unusual.

Hi,
Zentek wrote:Any tuning difference ...
i'm aware of that.
I was carefully tuned the two oscillator the same. (the tuning pot's led stays lit and theres no beating)
As prove of the issue i switched to "add" configuration and the problem disappeard, back to "offset" configuration and the problem shows again.

Marco.
The offset adds a detuning to the second oscillator only.
This detuning cannot be heard until it crosses over a quantizing boundary.
Otherwise, it is present but somehow hidden behind.
Because of this (whatever small) difference when in offset mode, the oscillators will not cross the quantizer boundaries at the same level/time.

Just to be complete, having the base note set differently in the two quantizers would also be an obvious cause of (big) delay difference in following the CV.

Having a nightmare updating the firmware. Tried every possible volume setting and get download error. I once got it to light about 5% and it stopped.

Strangely I routinely update mutable modules and Pamela's workout without a hitch. Any help?

I tried for a couple of days using my laptop's audio output, which I've used successfully for every other module I have (except those sensible ones that avoid this wav-playing nonsense). Frustrating and got nowhere.
Anyway, in the end gave up and used my Mac soundcard - worked first time.

Strange... also easily made the update using my headphone output from the computer

I think TRRS connections can cause problems. I tried updating my twin wave (along with some MI modules) using my laptop souncard and no dice. I transferred the wav files to my mp3 player and it worked first shot.

Moved to iPad. Finally worked after 15 attempts, luckily you don't have to keep resetting the modular. I used the same volume settings the last 5 times and finally it latched.

Btw it was stuck in upgrade mode even after resetting modular UNTIL the firmware was successfully flashed. Seems dangerous to me, I could have been left with a bricked module if I hadn't persevered. Won't be changing the firmware again anytime soon!

that's weird, i had no problem at all with upgrading.

I used my laptop's headphones output and everything went fine...
