It seems blind to anything that’s not eurorack.
Not finding anything for Blacet, BugBrand, Easel, 285e, etc.
(Sounds)--> :eek:

Hi! In the last week, I've added Modular 8 (Portland), patchcable (Hobart, AU), Signal Sounds (Glasgow), Juno (London), and Blip CV (Bilbao). I've also added a localized "first found" date to the table to help users understand how fresh of inventory they're looking at.

Next, I'm working on a way for users to watch a product for availability. For example, if you're hurting for a new Pamela's New Workout but they're all out of stock, you can follow it on WH and receive an update when one is available.

Thanks for following along!

Let me add my voice to the choir that thinks calling this theft is ridiculous. All Wiggle Hunt does is make the Efficient Market Hypothesis a little bit more true for eurorack, by collecting public information and making it readily available to buyers. How should that be illegal?

I actually discovered new sellers through Wiggle Hunt, mainly small vendors that I would not otherwise have found. If my preferred local eurocrack dealer doesn't have the module I crave, I can now shop more broadly. Sure, I will shop for low price, but good service warrants a premium in my book.

Great idea and good, simple, implementation. I was going to suggest you open source it, but seeing the tech list, I’d be useless contributing to it :-)

Thanks for this great site and for your hard work. One feature that would be nice to add is clicking on a column header to sort by that column. Great job in any case!

This is awesome!
I don't even care about the prices being listed...I'm surprised at how much I enjoy browsing without images.

I have to say, I've read thru the posts and I don't see the harm.
I tend to buy in UK from my preferred retailers in any case - I'm not always led by price - BUT this is a very useful tool - so big thanks for the effort put in to make it happen.

Artaos wrote:However useful this may be, it's a bummer that it violates most commonly accepted web best practices. Not only is scrapping those websites specifically against their terms of services, but it also goes against their best interests (which is why it is frowned upon).

For those that are missing the point, if you think about it from the point of view of the retailers, it might make more sense. The last thing they want is their prices and their inventory compared side-by-side against their competitor's. Also, there is no guarantee that this is going to be kept up to date, correct, etc.
The retailers have no control over this copy of their inventory. It potentially corrupts their proprietary information (their stock, prices, and inventory).
In addition to all of this, scrapping those websites make them incur extra costs since they are now paying for hosting and serving pages to robots, which are not customers.

And to top it all off, the author is attempting to make money off of this (with the Patreon subscription, etc). This is theft, pure and simple. Good luck.

Hey Matt Dennewitz (OP), being a director of engineering at Wired is probably paying you well enough that you don't have to take money from honest people on here to run an illegal website, don't you think?
How exactly do you feel about Bing, Yahoo and Google?

quick update: added modular grid, added ability to search across one or more stores and regions. for example, here's all of the used gear in chicago's shops. mobile looks nicer, too.

Still a great service. However, I really think that the huge shops (Thomann, Musicstore, gear4music, etc) should be added. If possible? Perhaps they are hindering this type of scraping?
New track! Drum synthesis and melodies. ✨

Any chance you could make a "saved search" option that emails us new search results on a daily basis?

This site is awesome by the way - thanks for building it!!

Let me add my voice to those requesting the possibility of adding non-euro formats (MOTM, MU/dotcom at least, and Modcan, Serge, FRAC and other types of synths might be appreciated too).

Regardless it's a very useful resource, thanks for putting the work in to do this.

can definitely be done. i'm a week behind wrapping up search updates via email - once that's wrapped (this weekend i hope!) i'll open the floodgates on all synth gear from stores.

I hope you're able to generate affiliate income at some of these sites to help support your efforts. You should definitely join Reverb's program at least.

redesign day!

also new: price filters, currency conversion, "ships from" indication (useful when looking at reverb and modgrid), and store sale listings. i've begun to reach out to stores to encourage them to share sale dates.

w/ gdpr out in the wild now, i'm also resuming work today on search-driven notifications (which will require an account.) reach out if you'd like to help beta that.
