The red stripe on your cable goes down with the stripe under the power header that says -12v red.
Thank you !

Hi all - created this cheatsheet manual for my own use - but thought it may be of use to some of you lucky Supercell owners...

@sempervirent So I picked up one of these recently, upgraded from a Monsoon, and I am loving it - great work! However, it's seems that the random CV fluctuation feature for unpatched inputs may not be working on my unit. I installed the Parasites firmware and did the re-calibration as specified in the manual (probably not relevant, but I don't want to leave out any background info). Can't seem to get any randomness out of unpatched inputs. I've created a video showing the (non)behaviour... apologies for the shaky-cam. It's entirely possible I'm missing something obvious, so wanted to check before initiating a return:

(video is unlisted, so won't show up on youtube searches. I'll remove it once you've viewed it)

Try holding the mutes for a longer period of time, it takes a bit.

Thanks for the advice, but I've tried many times, with more than two seconds, which is what is specified in the manual. Does it take a longer period than 2 seconds on yours to change states?

I'd say a solid five, definitely more than 2.

Just make sure you have a good 1 and 3 volt source to re-calibrate after the update - I used my Ornament and Crime

You're right... I tried it again holding it for 5 or 6 seconds and it worked.

@Sempervirent, you might want to update the manual, as it says 2seconds in there.

Thank you for that suggestion; I’m going to look for one of the 1U ones.

Is there any reason to hang on to our Supercells now that Beads is out?

Ha! I just listened to the Beads' demo, and the fidelity of the live-granular processing sounds much higher. Am I imagining this?

Depends how much you use the extra CV inputs, I suppose?

beads doesn't have cv over wet/dry or reverb amount, so that alone makes it worth keeping one of the pervious versions

From the manual, it’s one input that can be sent to the three parameters simultaneously.

“J. Feedback, that is to say the amount of output signal mixed with the input signal and fed back into the processing chain. Each quality setting employs a different feedback amplitude limiting scheme typical of the medium it emulates – from clean brickwall-limiting to grungy tape saturation.

K. Dry/wet balance.

L. Amount of reverb. Modeled on the acoustics of Thoreau’s cabin, or of a strip-mall spa.

The LED under each of these knobs indicates the amount of modulation they receive from the assignable CV input (7).

Press the button [M] to select to which of these 3 destinations the CV input (7) is assigned. Or hold this button and turn the knobs [J], [K] and [L] to individually adjust the amount of CV modulation.“

Haha! Thanks! Fellow member nios wrote a pretty detailed technical description comparing the two in the Beads thread. My thanks, since that settled most of my questions. I'm sure I can find something for my Supercell to do once I receive my Beads.

If you're a bit forgetful, like me, having the quality / banks UIs separated out, as Supercell does, is worth something too. It used to drive me nuts on the Monsoon. The output level right there on the panel is worth something also (to some at least).
