Couple or three months late but..... NoLegs that is one awesome patch! Bad ass all out jam there! Sold me on the Miasma, Natural Gate and the DFAM all at once!

Too bad I'm short of eurorack funds at the moment.

Added all three to my ever expanding wish list though....

It is available directly from RE at the moment and will hit the shops later (talk to your local shop so they get some from us haha)
This is top of my list along with a bunch of VCAs!! Will it be available in California at Perfect Circuit, Analog Haven, or Vintage King?

My favorite distortion. Pisses over my Analog Heat for high gain distortion, from the roof.

Good to hear! Ordering this week once I decide if I want to start working with another Verbos ATC now, or push it ‘til later and dive into Miasma.

I love my Retro Mechanical Labs distortions, but this is a different flavor with character I can not resist!!

Did you get Crime with it?

Holy crap how the hell did I not know about this thing. Just heard about it here: https://www.noiseengineering.us/blog/tl ... distortion. Immediately looked up this thread and checked the rest of the demos. OMFG - instant order. :75:

Now what do I need to sell to make space for this?
sometimes i post stuff on instagram

Damn, finally grabbed one, and love it!
Need to get the Crime expander, I do wish it had a small button to switch the polarity of the selected diodes.

any favorite combos? or diodes not included?

I wish the diode jack was external, but I assume that's to keep from frying anything.

How's everybody getting on with miasma? I put the single blue LED widget in today, half rectification. Sounds a more triumphant distortion now. What's your choice of diodes?

Yes, although Crime is strangely built, meaning it can't go next to any module without having to leave a gap, including Miasma it self (it can't sit on its right side without a gap).Image

That's odd, mine sits more or less fine next to Miasma:

Which would you choose between the Miasma+Crime vs the EFCV?

I love my RML but it's huge and I'm downsizing and largely leaning towards grabbing a Miasma and Crime in its place

You need to push a bit the connector in the back, carefully as you already know and it fits.

I had to send my miasma and crime back because the old miasma version was inversed and you couldnt connected the two together without having a gap somewhere.
I sent them back to him and he send them back to me..
Cost me money but heh at least i didnt pay to get it modified

I don't recall having to do anything special with mine at all, I assume they must have screwed up somehow with the ones that don't sit next to each other properly.

I still need a Crime, but would love one with all positions customizable, should be easy. + maybe, DIP switches to reverse polarity for each diode?

I compared a bunch of distortions with the Miasma, and it's one of the best:

I finally grabbed a Crime, fits perfectly beside the Miasma--no gap.
Love it! no chance of letting it go.
That said, the Retro Mechanical Labs EFC, while different, kills it for low frequencies.
They are both great! Keeping both. The RML handles low freqs a lot better than anything I've tried.

When I distort bass sounds, I run a parallel output through a filter and mix the bass in from that, in the DAW so I have full control in the mixdown.

Keen to hear that RML now though..

I usually run my DFAM thru the RML and can confirm it keeps the low frequencies really well

So on Crime, the 6th slot is empty and the user can put whatever diode they want in there. Given what's already in there (see below), does anyone have any advice for some things to try in that 6th slot that would sound different from what's already in there?

From the manual:
I is 1N60, a germanium diode
II is 1N4148, a very classic silicon diode
III is BAT42, a schottky diode
IV is 1N4004, a schottky diode
V is a Blue LED

EDIT: Just heard back from Ritual, and yup, that's exactly what it is. Just make sure the same color wire is on the "bottom" on both.

Different question: Just got my Ritual and the Crime expander. The installation instructions say that the cable that connects Crime to Ritual needs to be installed "red stripe down." Uh... I don't have any red stripe? My only guess is there is a (slightly) raised black arrow on the header plastic underneath the male terminal pin for the black wire (and not the yellow, blue, or green) on one end and on the blue wire side on the female end; bothon the side that has an "open" rectangle underneath the pins (versus the fully enclosed side).

I'm guessing that's the side (with the "window") that needs to "face" the PCB on both the Miasma and the Crime? Basically, as long as the same colored wire is going into the "bottom" of each header (assuming the module is stood up vertically) i'm good, right?

I'm editing both Crime and Miasma manuals as we speak with the new cable code!
Our supplier changed the colours on this cable.
Just make sure the same colour is facing down on both Miasma and Crime.

FYI there is no such thing as reverse connection for Miasma and Crime. Diode I is for the "top" part of the signal, Diode II for the "bottom" part. If you plug it the other way round you'll have swapped controls. Which is definitely not a problem I guess.
