Is mode "F" (noise) supposed to be really quiet? like half the volume of the other modes?

It's too bad because it would be more fun to modulate "modes" if the volume of F matched the others, because there will be a drastic volume drop if F is hit by the modulation.

Edit: nvm, there's a trimmer on the back of the module where you set the level.

Picked up one of these off of Modular Grid and it arrived yesterday.

Enjoying it and got my head around it pretty quickly, can't help but feel that a few mods would make this perfect (for me):

1> Some way of clocking the LFO, to do it by eye/ear too tricky and it drifts, but when it locks in - especially with the sample and hold, some amazing stuff has happened, but to repeat it, would need to record and sample it, thus taking it out of the live realm.

2> the sample and hold, would be good if there was some way of locking this in when a good pattern is found

3> I can only seem to get it to jump between two adjacent modes presently - using Batumi Gate LFO - maybe I need to explore this more and set two distinct voltages to loop between a and C for instance. Can anyone comment on this?

Also, anyone know enough about the electronics gubbins to comment on 1 and 2 and how difficult those objectives might be to achieve with mods?

There is no simple way of doing this, the SH is clocked by the LFO but also affected by the trigger in.

This is in the manual. Hold both buttons for 3 secs to switch between the program advance modes

Thanks altitude909. But if there was some way of clocking the LFO, that would be half the battle, no?
If you work for MSW, forgive the mail I also to them also asking similar.
And I'll read the manual again (properly this time). Thanks again.

Adding some fuzz to the sweet but deep sounding Mode A on this little thing :

would have been cool if they had made it to track 1v/oct.. i tried and heh, it doesn't track even over 1 octave.. because i really like it as a bass too i have to say, but when it doesn't track the usability is limited. might do a sample pack for my Bitbox of it, which is carefully tuned..

It does track. I calibrate at 1 and 4 volts and its within a few cents. What you have to understand is that the circuit only holds pitch for a second after it gets a trigger then it decays, in order to properly calibrate it, you need to retrigger it continuously by sending a fast clock signal to the trigger in, then the pitch will be stable. All the SY clone behave like this

Still very much in love with the module, keep thiking I should ass a second to have a proper sycussion in-rack.

Here's a new lil' video where it plays a sort of cosmic lead :

any special reason for your concern? it's an analog module, should be negligible..
