Then I will just be patient ... if it's not this year, it will probably arrive somewhere next year

The decay time suck a bit honestly. Not sure why the black version only had the longer decay. I often need a long decay and i can always short it why restricting the range like that ?

Just patch a gate into the Decay, when held high it will increase the decay 10x

But then you lose the possibility of modulation, right? (unless you set something up with external CV processing)

Not really, sending short gates will shorten the decay times as well. The way I have mine set up is the decay in multed to the trigger in and I send gates (it triggers when it goes high) that I can leave open for a longer decay. It works almost like a quasi hold-release thing (its not infinite though)

Color. That's it. Black has red LEDs Silver has Green.

The limited edition ones had different buttons and full color graphics but feature wise, all the ones currently available are the same with the extended decay mod being standard

I just ordered one from Schneiders, just wondering how long the list is and if there will be a batch shipped in the near future.

I only have the Machinedrum that can act as a trigger, dont have any in my system. What will happen if I just use a short gate with a vca afterwards to adjust the voltage?

Will all new modules be shipped with the longer decay times? - Just asking because I would like to use it as a "synth" module... if that makes sense, but good trick with the gate to add decay - I am very hands on and my euro system has been the same for the last 2-3 years. So actually this is my first new module for a long time, and just wanted to say thank you for making this happen, I am really excited. :tu:

Actually considering buying one of these pods from 4ms and get two modules
https://www.schneidersladen.de/en/4ms-p ... wered.html
Could make a cool portable drum synth....

I just got a restock, available in the shop in black only. New natural panels will be here in about 3 weeks

It will fire when the trigger goes high. The trig input is unchanged from the real deal so you can pretty much throw anything at it.

yes, all of them (as of May) have the longer decay. It tracks reasonably well so you can use it as a quasi synth module

Ah thank you ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪ cant wait. My system is quite old, before black was a thing, so maybe i would prefer natural ;)

With some settings, I get a nasty, same sounding click at the beginning of the attack. It is the same sort of click you sometimes get when an envelope's attack is set too quick. Can this be adjusted or stopped?

While I can get some great dub bass using mode A, there is a loud click every time a new note/gate is sent. I can use a filter or an envelope/VCA to get rid of it, but I was wondering if the attack could be adjusted. The problem occurs with other settings.

I’ll add that my SYO.5 is a newer version with a black faceplate and longer decay. In fact, I have an older version, and the two sometimes sound different with the same settings! Actually, this difference is not a problem.

You can try to send a smaller gate or adjust the sensitivity trimmer on the back (the single turn below the V/OCT multiturn). The SY has free running VCOs and that coupled with a super fast attack can results it really clicky sounds at some settings, its the architecture of the the device. The trigger in is also not really designed for a digital gate, originally it was a speaker input and we kept that so toning that down to something that looks like a envelope instead of a pulse or gate should help too.

I've used this very technique to get a nice rounded bass and you can almost get rid of the clicks with filters + VCA. I do it all inside the 301. Here's a quick vide with me talking a little + a jam with only the SY.05 and some MFB Tanzbar sample :

and a short taster :
