Hmm. I preordered too. No shipping notice, and no Catalyst....

Edit: I heard back. A customs issue on Ralf’s end.

Pulling this quote from page one because I had totally forgotten about this incredible feature.

The new version is definitely bipolar; -5 to +5V I believe. There is supposedly a method to change inputs individually back to 0-10V, but I haven't gone hunting for it.

I would presume an updated manual will be coming along in the future. Perhaps Ralf is waiting until the one-shot playback and fader curve adjustment features are complete? There is supposedly an audio bootloader accessed via the expander for updating.

I haven't even connected the expander yet but this module is brilliant and fun. Very nice build quality and workflow!

I might be wrong, but I don't think they observe Black Friday at European one-man module shops without official dealers.

Long time lurker, first time poster here...

I am very keen on this module and have sent several questions to the address mentioned on the maker's website, but have been waiting for two / three weeks on a reply. This does make me worry slightly that there are problems with manufacturing, first time module and all. Does anyone know more about when the next batch may be due in stock or perhaps whether Ralf (I think his name is) is currently touring and/or unable to respond?

Thanks!

He's very recently been on tour, and is going back out soon, from what I've gathered, but the newest batch is ready, and I got my shipment notification yesterday. I don't really know, but I reckon he's probably working his way through emails and orders at the moment. :)

bevore i burn something:

connecting the expander: (3,3V connector)
i guess the cable has to go from "box mark" to the other "box-mark" ? ( the u-shaped white line).
yellow to yellow / marking to marking for example, yes ?

if doing false, could it burn something ?
can´t find any infos in the manual or elsewhere.
Better asking since the marks are kind of reversed, module vs. expander

Hi Everybody, just real quick:

Yes, simply connect the 3.3v on the module to the 3.3v header on the expnder. Nothing will go bad if you do it wrong, no worries.

Yes, all modules are bipolar now! Each output can be shifted separately. Simply press and hold the corresponding encoder for a second which will put the output into mute mode. now turn the encoder left or right. The LED will flash to indicate the mode change. Now unmute the output again.

I will update the manual very soon.

Another new feature is the curve setting for the fader. On startup hold the bank button, this will get you into fader setup mode. The bottom row of encoders will now set the curve to a steeper or less steep log curve. When the blue encoder LEDs are in the center (both LEDs are lit) the curve is linear. The assignment buttons adjust the cut-in point, left or right respectively. Press the bank button again to save settings and leave the fader setup mode.

If I placed an order for a flow version today, what would be the currently expected in-stock and shipping time within Germany?

Thanks @ Emblematic for the feedback !

Great work. Much appreciated that somebody took the effort to do such thing !
I also really like the aesthetics of the module.
Very intuitiv to dive in.
.......now to find *my* musical uses is then another thing ;)

Since the expander is now available it might be helpful to make a quick video demonstrating it's abilities and at the least please provide a small "manual" for it on your site? Thx!

There's one thing I don't really get - if the fader is all the way to the right or left, the values should be the exact values of the scene assigned to that position of the fader, right? Yet, if I have the fader all the way to the right, and change the scene assigned to the left side of the fader, the parameters of the outputs change slightly whenever I do this (even though the fader is all the way to the right with a scene I'm not editing). Anyone know why that happens?

Edit - this only seems to happen with the "scene A" button on the left side of the fader. So whenever I got the fader in the right position, and assign a scene with scene button A (the one to the left) - the parameters jump a bit - but If I do it the other way around, assign a scene to button B when having the fader in the leftmost position, it doesn't do this. A bug, or do I have some weird setting enabled?

Edit 2 - I think it had to do with some setting on the expander - seems to work fine now.

Expensive one has a proper DJ crossfader, but lower resolution. That’s it as far as I know, if you’ve got mad crossfader technique, the expensive one is the one to get. If you are interested in exploring in between sounds, get the cheaper one.

Hmm. (thanks)

What about having mad DJ skillz and wanting full resolution?

Ugh. Decisions. Is there an expensive-er-er one with both features coming?

take the time please and read up in this thread.
The maker of the module has made clear statements !

what i can add:
i wanted to go for the DJ style optical fader since i have an OT mkII with the same style of Fader,
but went at the end with the 60mm one, also due to restricted funds.

i do wild jamms with my modules*. Not like a DJ, since thats pointless imho, but lets say like a LFO going at speed peaks with something like 2.5hz.
The 60mm feels a bit firm, but its still ok for wild wiggling, since it has a big "cap" to grab.

personally i see the drawback on the 45mm DJ fader that it would be easily possible to deadjust your fader-setting while adjusting the minipots.
Also dependend of vertical vs. horizontal mount and amount of cable salad around the catalyst.
My guess is that the firmness of the fader has its advantages in a dense modular context.

i feel like i´d want to have both, and would be happy with both.......
Personally i think you can´t go wrong with either of the two versions.

* not refering here to the catalyst, since i´ve not played much with it so far.

This looks like a really useful, well made module.
