Verbos Mini horse

didn't see any discussion on this particular module. I'm thinking it would be perfect for controlling several cv parameters via 8 fingers, much better than the R*S sequencer. My issue with sequencers is they're one button at a time, the Verbos is more of a cv keyboard (pressure, gate and position)

Any thoughts of how it would control or play nice with R*S modules.

It looks nice. I wonder how he settled on 12 as the right number?

12 semi-tones in an octave.
12 frequency bands in the Bark Filter.
Disappointment with any module is usually a failure of imagination.

Ah of course. It maps neatly to the VCAs on his modules.

it can be added to a synthesizer system either inside the Eurorack or out front in the forthcoming Black Box extra low profile powered enclosure.

Thanks, I had a doepfer ribbon controller years ago, I liked it, size was an issue and limitation of independent outs. Now just to hurry up and wait.

Really like the idea of this. Especially that it has it's own powered enclosure. Hope the enclosure has some sort of lid to it

I like the concept, the idea, the look and all.

But the price is certainly not justified here. It's a complete joke ! :despair:

R*S modules use 5vpp and Verbos uses 10vpp. Without attenuation, that means only the bottom half of the sliders will change most R*S modulation inputs. Most R*S have attenuation for their inputs but it is something you’ll need to deal with.

I personally found this voltage difference to be a deal breaker but I suppose it is easier to go 10vpp to 5vpp with attenuation than the reverse direction which requires amplification.

Why Mini Horse? Is there a full sized Horse out there or on its way?
I dig the aesthetic though. Looks to be pretty dope & I agree; a pretty high price tag on it....

Mini Horse is a reference to something Alessandro Cortini said.

This is a gorgeous module and probably capable of a lot of things. I got some flak for saying this in the main Verbos thread but out of the box, this seems aimed squarely at controlling the input hungry mixers on the Harmonic Oscillator and the BARK Filter. Or the HO plus the Scan and Pan. There are a lot of controllers on the market, many at price points lower than this, that probably can't do for those first two modules what this can. I bet it also would make an extremely expressive controller for melodic content.
i don't know what I'm doing but I sure like doing it.

The price on this thing seems high'ish, but as I understand it, if I wanted to mimic this thing I would use x3 Pressure Points and Frames, and that's a ton more space and at MSRP, more money. I should say though the PP Frames team would be able to do a bunch of stuff this isn't, because, well, Frames.

Alessandro is quoted by Mark as saying "you should die if you don't like mini horses." I think this was in the context of a conversation about how everyone likes mini horses. It seems kind of like a private joke.

There are differences in features, but three Pressure Points would cost you around the same.

I’m curious how much the powered skiff will run.

Looking at the two largest 4MS Pods, which are priced at $119 and $175 I would guess somewhere in the middle.

Actually I think if one can score a mini horse on one of those 10-15% off sales that pop up every month or so, the price isnt that bad. Quite in line with other Verbos pricings. Im real new to the Verbos line, but so far, with the 2 modules Recently picked up (CO & BARK) Im Super impressed with the build & sound quality.....the whole of the functional aesthetic too. So yeah Im really looking forward to this offering

I wish that companies that make Eurorack modules would add a calibration trim to adjust +/- vpp, that way they can all play together nicely
