Well, given the noise in the Mimeophon, that might not be the case.

No plans to get rid of my Mimeophone. Completely different module.
Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
This is such a bloody lovely module, never used a delay like it, so natural and lush sounding. It does most of the work in this piece- sound source through it is a Brenso, then the mix output patched into one input of a stereo chorus, with T2 patched into the other side, then T3 taken into an Instruo Arbhar for added trills. Its the only thing in at the start and then stays in throughout. Sounds quite orchestral i think. Winner module and worth the considerable price and the wait.

Playing with my new Sarajewo.
It's just gorgeous.
Running into it is a Serge NTO bit-crushed and rate-reduced by a Doepfer A-189-1, which creates the bell-like tones, with added grunge.
The Sarajewo is synced to the clock and the delay time randomly changed every so often.
Distressed piano is from a MN Morphagene.

Very nice, to both!
Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
Finally found time to record some sound demos - nothing too fancy, just to give a sense of its basic sound. Here it is plain, with taps 1 and 2 through a CP3 mixer and panned left with motion; tap 3 panned right:
And here is the same sample, this time in a feedback loop through Ripples:
A more bassy sample, in feedback loop with QPAS:
Here it is warming up a chilly pad from Plonk, with a fair bit of CP3 distortion also:
And this last one is on a bass sample; might be hard to hear without speakers / headphones:

Got mine yesterday... this thing sounds fantastic.
Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
First patch. Sound source is mainly a Manis Iteritas, but I crossfade into a Loquelic Iteritas Percido at certain points.
Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
It is prone to glitches and clicks, and somehow, the dry signal gets a pretty high noisefloor added. The mimeophon thread has lots of talk about it.

Sarajewo sounds amazing. I was interested in getting a Chronoblob for the ability to externally process delays. Sarajewo seems like a better option for the analog character. Modulating the delay time knob when sync'd sounds incredible.

How about we keep all the Mimeophone talk on the Mimeophone thread?

What other analog delays should I compare this to before buying it?
The Sarajewo just sounds like the best delay I’ve ever heard. My only BBD experience is on my Matriarch, which is amazing, but this sound even richer.

Thank you! I’m still working on it, this was just sketching/testing ideas out.

Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
Which module is everyone using to pan the taps of Sarajewo?
I've been using my Bubblesound 6x1v2 for panning the taps, and sending a stereo signal to a stereo channel of the WMD Mixer. This works great, but it ties up my only sub-mixer, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a small stereo mixer to pair with Sarajewo. I can send two of the taps directly to the L&R of a stereo channel, but I was hoping for a bit more spatialization control, and avoid eating up the mono channel of my main mixer.
The 6x1v2 is 5hp, so it's not that big, and I could certainly get another. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything smaller. The only thing I could find is the Takaab Nearness, which is 3hp, and looks great:

I've used two nearness patched in series in the past and quite enjoyed it though eventually switched over to the Worng Soundstage which is perfect for my purposes

Can someone convince me to keep the Verbos Multi Delay vs. having 2 of these?
The HP savings is tempting and the sound...

Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
The Verbos is a digital delay emulating an analog delay; so not really any point to it since you can do the same thing more efficiently and cheaply in software, and it's rather too clean.
the Sarajewo is a BBD delay, and subject to all the quirks that characterize BBDs. Far more character and colour than digital delays.
Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!
I have one Sarajewo currently, so yeah just wondering if it would inspire me to use the Verbos differently than just a rhythmic multitap. I suppose time will tell. Might try using the Verbos to process envelopes and LFOs and see what comes of it...luchog wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 10:17 amThe Verbos is a digital delay emulating an analog delay; so not really any point to it since you can do the same thing more efficiently and cheaply in software, and it's rather too clean.
