@jschussler - WOW it sounds great through a Natural Gate! Will have to try this with some of my LPGs
awesome patch
Here is a jam we threw together last week - it's a Chainsaw fed into the external input of an SSF Entity Percussion, another Chainsaw as an arp lead on top and all fed through the Erbe Verb together:

I'm assuming you're testing it with Triad? I have one too and that's the first combo I thought of!jschussler wrote:Chainsaw and Arpitecht Triad are like cheese and crackers: You can have one without the other, but why would you?

How does it sound in Mono?

Re: Introducing Chainsaw - 4hp polyphonic supersaw oscillator
Hi everyone and hi to Acid Rain, i have and love using my chainsaw. I do have one small issue the gain (or some might call the volume or level) is lower than my other oscillators - SSF Spectrum and Noise Engineering Manis. This is not usually a big deal i can correct it elsewhere however it would be nice to just about double the gain so its in the same ballpark. Right now its on the quiet side.
Any way i can use the debug port for this? I've checked to make sure the module is not coming lose internally and also tried another power plug.
Edit: could this simply be that the multiple waves reduce the perceived volume and that the actual signal level is normal? hmm..
Here is a quick image of the spectrum and scope with me swapping the cable from Chainsaw to Manis to Spectrum.
Many thanks.

Re: Introducing Chainsaw - 4hp polyphonic supersaw oscillator
Hmm maybe. But either way I also did notice the output level seemed to be a bit lower then my other oscillators.
Also for me personally I wished that there was no unison when the detune knob is fully closed. Now I can’t seem to fully calibrate it with my Klavis Caltrans to improve its v/oct tracking since Caltrans needs a simple non moving wave to calibrate.
Still the module sounds great tho.

Hey there :-)Xssory wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 1:25 pm@behndy Thanks for the kind words! We are just as excited as everyone else watching Divkid Ben work his magic with the Chainsaw - to be honest he has come up with patch examples in this video we haven't even tried before![]()

Do you have any news on when the next batch is ready to ship? I'm very excited for this one and unfortunately ordered right when Schneiders was out of stock :-D
Thanks a lot. I also love my Navigator, which was an easy to build kit. Ads a lot of new possibilities to the tactile part of my rack. :-)

Re: Introducing Chainsaw - 4hp polyphonic supersaw oscillator
What module(s) is everyone using for v/oct inputs? I'm considering Instruo's Harmonaig. Any simpler/cheaper recommendations? I wish Chord v2 had a quantized CV output option along with the oscillators.

Re: Introducing Chainsaw - 4hp polyphonic supersaw oscillator
I don’t have a Chainsaw yet but I do have a Toppobrillo Quantimator which looks like the ideal partner with three 1v/oct outs - I didn’t see it mentioned yet here.

Schneidersladen will be getting more very soon! Just packing up an order for them todayHey there :-)

Chainsaws are back in stock on our site but moving really, really fast! Fortunately we have more on their way through production and won't be out of stock for long if there is a gap in availability.

yeahhhhhhhhhh. i LOVE the Chainsaw. this is layering the root note into Plaits (in chord mode) and a chord into Chainsaw into Aperture -

I'm really digging this thing! Very happy to see that holding the encoder resets to C1, so useful!
One suggestion though, would it be possible to make a setting that turns the FM input into a digital VCA control? Finding stereo VCA's in my system can be a bit tricky.

This looks amazing. I've been using braids with renaissance for chords and while it's nice I want to get different inversions and a bigger sound for pads and stabs. I don't think I have space to fully use it in stereo though, can it still do the jobs for pads and big chords using just the mono? Does it normalise to mono when you just plug in one jack, or do you always just get some of the voice son each side?

Is there any way to dim the LED's? Otherwise I will get blind after two minutes. If it's dark and no light has been switched on in the room the LED's will illuminate the whole room (no joke).
