Did the egg functionality make it to the final edition? Does that mode disable signal throughput?

Yes, it definitely did. In Ping Mode (either internal or external/manual) any signals at the audio inputs are converted to ping triggers.

It's fully digital.
Not according to this link:

https://www.perfectcircuit.com/rossum-linnaeus.html

"After Trident and Panharmonium, we didn't expect a new Rossum module for a bit—but now Linnaeus is here, and we're excited for all the sonic opportunities it provides.

Linnaeus Features
◾Stereo state-variable analog filter for Eurorack modular synthesizers
◾Extremely wide frequency range, from subaudio to ultrasonic
◾Precise 1V/Oct tracking across entire frequency range"

I'm afraid Perfect Circuit is wrong about that. Thanks for pointing it out. We'll let them know.

it's an interesting module and sounds really nice. have only patched it up a bit but slowly getting to know it in the demo system at modular8. we've had it in there for a few weeks.

Yes. Two vids demonstrating Ping Mode (one internal, one external) will be droping in the next couple of days.

Hey Sam - just remove the "s" from https and the vids will embed properly

(I see you've done that now - looking forward to checking these out!)

Thanks for the demos, sounds great !
Feel free to share more from this module (raw pings, hand tweaking, stereo filtering, drones etc ...).
Looks like there is so much to explore. :tu:

I'm confused if the built in modulation VCO is through zero or if the filter is through zero. Where it says modulation index, is this just a VCA into a VCA? You could just say that instead of modulation index.

It's the filter itself that is thru-zero. The modulation oscillator is just a conventional oscillator.

"Modulation Index" is actually the correct technical term for what is going on here. It is controlled by a dedicated VCA, but mod index is the parameter being controlled.

[quote="2disbetter"]I for one, look forward to the day, when I can build an entire instrument around Rossum modules.

Me too! Seem like only a VCA away from that. Bet Dave would do a pretty incredible job of that too, imagine a a set VCA's with the type of VC character shaping tools similar that the Evo filter has.

Anybody got one of these? I’m shopping for a stereo filter and this one looks intriguing.. love the sound of those pings! Not many demo videos out there..

Just interested to hear opinions from wigglers :)

Any chance of a demo of the Linnaeus just doing some bread and butter filtering?
