E-RM Polygogo

Post by mdoudoroff » Fri May 17, 2019 7:43 am

This thing really seems pretty cool. Visual. Modulatable. Highly animatable. Pseudo-stereo. Fairly original. Fun.

A little additional information, including the tidbit that Tatsuya Takahashi (!) helped out:

I wonder if they could slim the module down a little?

This really caught my eye in the SB19 thread.

Seems very innovative and sounds good. I'm looking forward to it !

Sounds great. Key word from mdoudoroff -> fun!

Love that the display is just a visual representation of the output, rather than a menu of such.

I got my Polygogo today and I must say it’s amazing.
The range of sounds it produces is mesmerizing. It sounds great on it’s own and provides wonderful, harmonically rich fodder for modules such as Clouds and Panharmonium.

I‘ll try to upload some sound impressions soon.

Btw, how can I upload a picture?

I missed this from Superbooth this year. Very interesting and really nicely implemented.

Looking forward to seeing what people do with this.

So did I understand it right, and the circuit doing the processing is analog, and the source is digital? Very cool.

Here’s another one. This time sequenced and with an internal VCA trick.

The two op fm sounds awesome on this module.
I would be all over a smaller version of this with only the the 2op fm and wavefolding portion of this thing and no screen for 1/3rd the hp and 1/3rd the price. :hide:

I got an Odessa demo at Superbooth and loved it immediately. Polygogo otoh did not really spark my interest at first.
But now that I have it I love it and it will stay!
A friend has Odessa and I‘m looking forward to try it out for myself.

Cool, it sounds really good. I think I can get a lot of the tones from other oscillators I already have though, so I reckon Odessa is still highest on my list. This one does sound really good though. Excellent demos! Would love to hear a couple more. :)

Damn, this thing looks good in black. Love those knobs and sliders aesthetically, even if I am not sure, if they are big enough for good control...

this looks cool
windows media player meets eurorack...

I dont understand the idea of a "new kind of synthesis" kinda seems gimmicky word play, a new kind of visualization maybe.
the ergonomics/size is a bit confusing, a display screen that only half of which displays anything leaving a bunch dead space on either side?
but probably boils down to visual layout, or PCB layout, either way, seems like good choice as im not a fan of the mini-module fiasco and cramping things in. im gonna go over the links more, its probably not but id guess if its OS its a prime candidate for eurowilly's wanka shrink ray.
although it looks expensive, and like would be paying for the kitsch visual aspect, im looking forward to hearing whats on the plate for this thing.
WTB: modules, MA35 filter.
