Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
As per the title - the expert firmware does not seem to be mentioned on the Xaoc website, and the old dl links aren't working. Am I missing something or is it's no longer available? If it's no longer available, why?
Oh, interesting. I wonder if they did that on purpose, it could just be because the updater isn't supported on newer computers. The expert firmware is really good IMO. I do still have the firmware zip file, I could put a copy into google-drive for you if you want it (although it's not really good practice to share zips..)
This question came up in the main Batumi thread (viewtopic.php?t=155713) not too long ago as I was in your shoes: looking for it on the xaocdevices.com site where it used to be.
Answer is that Xaoc was getting too many support questions about this version (which was created by mqtthiqs, not them). They were quite kind enough to post it on their github in response to my request, and you can find it here: https://github.com/xaocdevices/batumi/releases

Thank you so much! I saw a demo of expert mode and was so bummed that I couldn't find it on their website.rbhansen wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 4:51 pmThis question came up in the main Batumi thread (viewtopic.php?t=155713) not too long ago as I was in your shoes: looking for it on the xaocdevices.com site where it used to be.

Just got it installed and I'm in already in love with the stepped voltage from the random wave bank and the new zoom mode!
Re: Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
I actually prefer this alt firmware over the expert mode one: http://voltexture.net/batumi-individual ... -released/
It builds on top of the expert one by adding individual control over waveform selections per channel. Check it out!

That said, I agree with @mrerdat...I think the Individual Wavebank version is a little more powerful without much more cognitive load re having to memorize the button and slider combinations. It's the version currently installed on my Batumi.
Re: Re:
Oh wow! I'll check this one out too. I like the idea of being able to select the waveform. Thanks for the tip @mrerdat!rbhansen wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:35 pmYou're welcome...glad it's still accessible.taro_kun wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 10:53 amThank you so much! Re: Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
Installed it and I love it! Being able to change the assign output without Poti expander or messing with the jumpers is so awesome! And the LED blink rate showing which mode you're on is a nice bonus!
Thanks again for pointing me to this version!

Re: Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
I ran into the same problem as you. it seems like the firmware updater app became deprecated in Catalina, but that Xaoc has updated it in their link to the factory firmware at http://xaocdevices.com/manuals/xaoc_bat ... ory_fw.zip . so use the firmware updater app included in that zip file.

Re: Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
finally got the Batumi INDIVIDUAL WAVEBANK firmware installed and working and loving it.
Using my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) on mojave I had problems with loader on older mac book, tried everything and no joy. 2 errors occurred ie either couldn't find chip, or couldn't find port.
Then tried my work mac book MacBookPro (13inch 2017) on Sierra and no problems.

Here's a cheat sheet I made for myself awhile back.toumpouris wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:21 amAnyone has a manual or instructions for individual wavebank firmware? Thanks
Should still be current/accurate but lmk if anything looks off.
And for completeness, also attaching the one I made for the expert firmware.

I would pay to have a PDF like this each module in my rack
Xaoc Zadar and Tirana (bc I could never remember the button combos),
a small number of Mutable modules (eg, Clouds, Marbles, Plaits, Rings and Stages),
Pamela's New Work out,
and Ansible (Kria),
though I think the latter two are a couple of firmwares behind.
If there's interest, they've been posted at viewtopic.php?f=16&t=244020
(so as not to clog up this one re Batumi).
No payment required.

I'm the author of the Individual Wavebank firmware.
Thanks for summarizing the usage. I'm glad if you all have fun with the firmware.
Re: Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
Well, you brought a very significant improvement to Batumi with that firmware that is for sure. Thanks a lot.

Re: Batumi expert firmware no longer available?
I just (re-)bought a Batumi. I'm running the Individual Wavebank firmware in Phase mode.
In phase mode, it seems like setting a division only works on channels 2-4, not on channel 1:
