Don't worry I'm not missing the point. Just realizing that it's one of the things it can do, and it makes the module more useful to me. And I know it's not just a standard clock divider, especially since the number of steps can be modulated. That makes it even better. Anyway, I've ordered one.

phew... :tu:
I'm sure with 10 years on MW... ;)
BTW... my comments were also for any who read this thread and might have an interest.
For the size, it's pretty awesome.... I.m sure you'll get a heap of mileage from it.

As to the topic, what uses do we have for it...
I also use it to divide voltages across, say 25 steps BUT only use say the first 5, or what ever and then reset... this will give .2 volts per step on step mode.

In LFO mode, the step count increases the amount of amplitude of the LFO.

I often use clep diaz to control the decay of an envelope -> vca.
I found BOC useful to reset sequential switches.

There is in every patch a useful task for CD !!! :spin:

Sorry, not sure I'm following. Can you explain this a bit?

Thanks for posting about this, I really like a lot of NE's smaller cv/gate based modules, but don't own any yet.

My favorite module in euro is the 4ms PEG, and the CD would be such a nice complement to it.

mode.
Yes.
In step mode, unipolar output is 0 to 5v divided/spread across the number of steps. In my example I made a mistake... it should be 25 divisions, which needs 26 steps. 5v divided by 25 = 0.2 volts per step (first step is 0 volts)... say I need 1 volt in 0.2 increments, I have it and reset after step 6. (I don't really think of first step as a step... so in my first statement, it should have been 6 not 5.. but I know what I mean) Does that help?

BTW thanks for the heads up on the ADDAC306... might get one when I get another rail... all full at the moment... crammed 240hp into 2 x 104 rails... :bananaguitar:

made my own case and left 55mm (2.3 inches) between the rails, think makenoise... got 4 x 8hp on their side...

works for me

As promised here's a video of the
ADDAC system addac 306 with the Clep Diaz. I kept it simple and vanilla to showcase it clearly.

Clep diaz is controlling only velocity and note length via the 306. I only change direction of each parameter, so sometimes they both go up, sometimes they both go down, sometimes they go on opposite directions, and CD length. Sequence is the same throughout.

Tons of variation!

Second (and last) example of the Clep Diaz as a phrasing tool.

Simple addition to the previous patch, nothing fancy at all. A simple flip of the switch (from up-down to up) completely changes what gets emphasised, how the clock behaves, the length of the notes.

Just whipped up this little controller in ModularGrid based on this thread:

Image

48hp, or add a MiniHorse for 90!

thanks for sharing!

edit: changed OR to 3:1, which also has an or mode

Re: Clep Diaz, one of the most musical modulation sources

Post by Paranormal Patroler » Wed Mar 25, 2020 4:46 am

Since we're on the subject of musicality, I keep finding musical uses for Clep Diaz on a lot of patches. Lately I've been using the CD to act as my main modulation source for my clock, which is the same clock that is patched on the CD itself! It's a great way to get accelerando / ritardando passages in the modular system, especially when using the LFO mode of the CD and fewer steps.
